Redesign concepts

Process. synthesis. Concept development, construction of flowsheets for new processes, and redesign or modification of existing process flowsheets. 

Fitting analysis. For this to be possible, an assembly sequence plan must be constructed and the difficulty of assembling each part in the sequence rated using the design for assembly analysis tables. Difficult assembly tasks and non-value added processes are revealed as candidates for correction by redesign. Simple concepts such as the ability to assemble in a layer fashion can result in major cost savings. 

Redesign the product. The product purpose, concept and functionality stay the same, but the way product is put together changes completely. 

The term domain or business covers all concepts of relevance to your clients and their problems—that is, the environment in which any target software will be deployed. If you are designing a multiplexor in a telecommunication system, your users are the designers of the other switching components, and the business model will be about things such as packets, addresses, and so on. If you are redesigning the ordering process of a company, the business model is about orders, suppliers, people s roles, and so on. 

More in line with the predictive use of hazards analysis, however, is the experimental and theoretical assessment that the viscosity of the liquid significantly affects this mode of initiation. Such information allows redesign of the process to eliminate handling of low viscosity liquid explosives, and quantitative measurement of the sensitivity of the system to mild shocks as a function of viscosity may allow the optimum level to be selected. This is not necessarily a new concept, only quantified in a different manner. Thirty years ago transporters of neat nitroglycerine in the oil fields were paid 25 a day. The stipend for transporting jellied nitroglycerine was seven dollars, a practical comment on the understood difference in hazard. 

Looking into the future necessitates dealing in rather broad concepts rather than with specific chemical problems. Nevertheless, as the machines used in transportation are modified and redesigned toward the end objective of lower cost and greater reliability,... 

The use of ELISA is broad and it finds applications in many biological laboratories over the last 30 years many tests have been developed and vahdated in different domains such as clinical diagnostics, pharmaceutical research, industrial control or food and feed analytics for instance. Our work has been to redesign the standard ELISA test to fit in a microfluidic system with disposable electrochemical chips. Many applications are foreseen since the biochemical reagents are directly amenable from a conventional microtitre plate to our microfluidic system. For instance, in the last 5 years, we have reported previous works with this concept of microchannel ELISA for the detection of thromboembolic event marker (D-Dimer) [4], hormones (TSH) [18], or vitamin (folic acid) [24], It is expected that similar technical developments in the future may broaden the use of electroanalytical chemistry in the field of clinical tests as has been the case for glucose monitoring. This work also contributes to the novel analytical trend to reduce the volume and time consumption in analytical labs using lab-on-a-chip devices. Not only can an electrophoretic-driven system benefit from the miniaturisation but also affinity assays and in particularly immunoassays with electrochemical detection. 

The unclarity of the reference-fixing mechanism of some concepts is probably an unavoidable consequence of the way conceptual systems develop. We often encounter new things for which the current system has no nice niche. It would be uneconomical to completely redesign the system whenever this happens. So we just tinker a bit. We decide which concept to apply, ignoring that this will complicate the reference-fixing mechanism. After a long series of ad hoc decisions we get patched-... 

The definition of your baseline depends very much on your innovation needs. When redesigning an existing product or process, if no specific alternatives have been defined, the status quo makes an ideal candidate. If you are investigating multiple different ideas or solutions, consider a middle-of-the-road example as a baseline. This will allow you to objectively compare all the options under consideration. In our hair salon example, we will consider the human hair-washing method as our baseline concept.
