The entire qualification process has to be documented. If it is not documented, it is just a rumor The records should be stored in a secure place because the records are the only proof that the qualification has been carried out. Systematic filing allows fast and easy access of records during an audit. Rapid record retrieval helps to convey a positive impression to auditors that the system is under control. It would a pity if all the hard work had been done but the records could not be presented quickly and efficiently during an inspection. 

The requirements for hardware validation are identical to those of any other equipment in use, comprising the OQ/IQ/PQ cycle, except that in the PQ, it is the test of software used. The software validation comprises functional testing, in which defined inputs produce outputs that meet expectations or specifications a thorough examination of source codes, database designs, programming standards, control methods, and support documentation or a quality-assurance program that includes alternate plans, contingency practices, record retrieval, and security practices... 

The definitions above are consistent with Part 11. Per Part 11, paragraphs 22, 45, and 72 in the preamble refer to when data on transient memory become electronic records. In summary, the primary attribute to take into consideration for the above definitions is record retrievability. It is essential to take this into account when deciding the applicability of Part 11. 

Another important set relationship is the Instrument to Analysis Record which allows all analyses for an instrument to be easily retrieved. Since the Sample Record and Instrument Record are owners of the Analysis Record, retrieval of all analysis information for designated samples and instruments can be readily accomplished. 

Validate emulation created including record retrieval relevant to GxP processes. 

Contracts should specify that the outsourcing company will maintain historical records for a retention period defined by the pharmaceutical and healthcare company. Means to ensure timely record retrieval also need to be established. Among other activities, record retrieval will be required to support ... 

The objectives of ABACUS were firstly, to maximise the exploitation of research results by providing facilities to record, retrieve and correlate information on the compounds tested and on the test results and related data and secondly, to help streamline and manage the whole drug discovery process. 

A data logger for recording, retrieving, and analyzing the readings of the above instruments will be found very useful.
