Pumps data/specification sheets

When specified by the purchaser, the pump suction specific speed shall be limited as stated on the data sheet. 

The report around each unit includes material and energy balance, input and output streams, as well as some information about unit performance. Here we may include the sizing report. Some simulation systems may export the results of sizing in the form of specification sheets, which are basic documents in engineering. Here we may mention standardised documents for heat exchangers, distillation columns, vessels, pumps, filters, etc. Some simulators offer automatic interface of simulation data to engineering... 

The design has to be represented in a way that facilitates its manufacture, erection, and maintenance, according to a system of order that best suits the overall project. (The pump data sheet and specification are configured according to API 610, a standard with which the target suppliers are familiar.)... 

It is usually process engineer s responsibility to specify a pump s process requirement on a pump data sheet. Providing the pump process specification is the first step to purchase a new pump or to rate an existing pump. The common practice is to select s new pump from a pump manufacturer s catalog by matching the pump s process requirement Veiy rarely, a new pump has to be designed from scratch. 

Certified test curves and data (Appendix T) shall be submitted within 15 days after testing and shall inelude head, power recalculated to the proper specific gravity, and efficiency, plotted against capacity. If applicable, viseosity corrections shall be indicated. The water NPSHR curve shall be included, drawn from actual test data, for an impeller east from the same pattern. The curve sheet shall include the maximum and minimum diameters of the impeller design supplied, the eye area of the first-stage impeller, the identification number of the impeller or impellers, and the pump serial number.

Preparation of technical data sheets Figure 4.8 shows an example of a technical data sheet of a pump. The most important data fields to be filled by the plant manufacturer (in Figure 4.8 in italics) are the pump head and the flow rate in the design point. The necessary information concerning the medium can again be gathered from the enclosed media data sheet. Other technical requirements can be stated in the relevant customer specification or in a QA-plan required to be enclosed, too. All other information has to be filled in by the pump supplier (in Figure 4.8 in bolt print). 

Process engineer will update all the equipment data sheets (such as vessels, heat exchangers, fire healers, pumps, compressors, filters, etc.) and give them to the engineer responsible for this eqinpment. The equipment engineer will add more information to the data sheets according to project equipment specification and his/her comments, and send them to vendors for bid.
