Psoriasiform eruptions have been reported in patients taking verapamil and nicardipine (SEDA-16,199). 

However, more severe or nnexpected conseqnences, including spontaneous splenic rnptnre, anaphylactoid reactions, deep necrotizing foUicnlitis, a psoriasiform eruption, acute gouty arthritis, iritis or episcleritis, and unexpectedly prolonged thrombocytopenia have been mentioned (SEDA-20, 337) (SEDA-21, 378) (SEDA-22, 407).

With seven cases in 56 consecutive patients taking penicillamine in one study, oral lichen planus may be fairly frequent (179). Most patients have erosive oral lichen planus, but bullous, plaque-like, or classic lichen planus can occur. Rarely a psoriasiform eruption has been reported with penicillamine (320).

Many drugs, as a result of their pharmacological action, have been implicated in the precipitation or exacerbation of psoriasis or psoriasiform eruptions.

Psoriasiform eruptions at the site of application of topical imiquimod were reported in two children aged five and 6 years treated for molluscum contagiosum and verrucae plana, respectively. In addition, oral ulceration was reported after application of topical imiquimod to the face of two children aged seven and 4 years. All symptoms resolved within two weeks of stopping therapy [359 ].

In a review of acute skin reactions to psychotropic drugs, alopecia, psoriasiform, acneiform, and lichenoid eruptions, and drug-induced lupus were attributed to lithium, but critical comment was not provided (404). 

Rashes were part of the practolol (oculomucocutaneous) syndrome, but are infrequent with other beta-adrenoceptor antagonists. The eruptions can be urticarial, morbilliform, eczematous, vesicular, bullous, psoriasiform, or lichenoid (250-255). 

Although the so-called psoriasiform rash is the main practolol rash , Assem and Banks (1973) reported lichenoid eruptions in a patient on practolol and various other types of mixed eruptions have also been reported (Felix et al. 1974). Figures generated in November 1977 indicated that the average time on practolol to development of the practolol rash was 19.1 months, with a range of 1-84 months (Nicholls 1978).
