Programmed factors affecting selectivity

Song, C. and A. Schmitz. Shape-Selective Isopropylation of Naphthalene over Dealuminated Mordenite. Key Factors Affecting Regioselectivity. Extended Abstracts, Program. 11th Internat. Congress on Catalysis, Baltimore, Maryland, June 30-July 5, 1996, Po-164. [Pg.185]

A study that estimates the protection provided by a respirator within a specific respirator program. Like the Effective Protection Factor (EPF), it is focused not only on the respirator s performance, but also on the effectiveness of the complete respirator program. PPFs are affected by all factors of the program, including respirator selection and maintenance, user training and motivation, work activities, and program administration. See also Effective Protection Factor (EPF) Study. [Pg.236]

Before undertaking a program of evaluating inhibitors for effectiveness in mitigating corrosion, one must review the overall problem and determine what is required of the inhibitor, that is, exactly what parameters are to be tested and what factors affect test results. These questions and their answers will help in obtaining meaningful data for selection of the most efficient inhibitor in the environment of interest. The first step is to select the critical environmental conditions of interest and to incorporate them in the test. [Pg.274]

In the past, the scale-up was carried out by selecting best guess process parameters. The recent trend is to employ the Factorial and Modified Factorial Designs and Search Methods. These statistically designed experimental plans can generate mathematical relationships between the independent variables, such as process factors, and dependent variables, such as product properties. This approach still requires an effective laboratory/pilot scale development program and an understanding of the variables that affect the product properties. [Pg.309]

Thus these various factors within a cooling system (internal factors), which have an interactive effect and significantly affect program selection, must also be taken into account. [Pg.303]

An important characteristic of primary optimization parameters is that whereas they have a large effect on the capacity factors of the solutes, they have a relatively minor effect on the selectivity (a). This implies that the factors involved in optimizing an analysis program (the initial and final conditions, programming rate and shape of the program) do not affect the chromatographic selectivity to a large extent. This will be even more true... [Pg.257]

As this chapter has shown, targeting outcomes depend on the big picture of policy choices about who the intended target group for a specific program is, the factors that will affect households decisions about whether to apply for the benefit, and a host of details concerning how the selected targeting mechanism is implemented. This chapter concludes with a discussion of the reform of social assistance in Armenia, which shows how targeting systems are buUt. [Pg.122]

Retention time is also strongly influenced by the choice of stationary phase. Several factors must be taken into account when selecting a column for separating androgens. Retention time and resolution will be affected by the choice of column length, stationary film thickness and polarity, and the temperature program rate. The programmed temperature optimization of a mixture of anabolic... [Pg.901]
