Air measurement in a chamber or cell initially produces the concentration C(t) at the time t of the measurement. To enable better comparability of the measured data the specific emission rate (SER) independent of air exchange and loading is to be preferred. The SER describes the product-specific emission behavior, for example, as area-specific emission rate (SERA) with the unit pg/(rn h) or as unit-based specific emission rate (SERu) with the unit gg/(unit h). [Pg.106]

CLiP provides a conceptualization of the most important entities and their relations in the domain of chemical process design. However, CLiP is not intended as a comprehensive, detailed product data model. Rather, it is understood as a conceptual model, based on which specialized implementation models can be developed, such as data schemata for domain-specific databases and tools, or neutral representation formats for the exchange of product data between heterogeneous software systems. Within the CRC, several implementation models for domain-specific software tools have been elaborated on the basis of CLiP. [Pg.101]

The international standard ISO 10303, widely known as STEP (STandard for the Exchange of Product data) proposes a series of data models for the exchange of engineering data between computer systems. The STEP model framework has a modular architecture Basic modules introduce generic classes, methods, and building blocks from these, domain-specific models, the so-called Application Protocols (AP), can be constructed. For the domain of process engineering, the following APs are of major interest ... [Pg.174]

In the 80s a large number of different CAD systems were developed. This made the necessity for standards for data exchange obvious. At the beginning, dedicated standards for drawings and 3D models appeared. In 1984 the development of STEP started as a successor of formats such as IGES, SET and VDA-ES (Eig. 21.13). The initial plan was to develop one implementation independent product data model for all purposes. Because of the complexity the standard was modularized. In 1995 ISO published the first initial release. Based on these modules different user communities could create application protocols that adapt the data model and definitions to the specific requirements of the business. Eor automotive AP 214 was defined and enhanced continuously [23]. [Pg.627]

All aforementioned scenarios imply a point-to-point connection between two partners (e.g., shipyard and supplier) who are familiar with each other. In case of a shipyard which has to keep relationships with many suppliers simultaneously, manual management of data exchange becomes too complex and has to be maintained through specific tools. Furthermore, data exchange with partners in the product development process requires some additional topics to be addressed ... [Pg.687]

In order for CAD applications to run across systems from various vendors, four main formats facilitate this data exchange IGES (Initial Graphics Exchange Specification), STEP (Standard for the Exchange of Product Model Data), DXF (Drawing Exchange Format), and ACIS (American Committee for Inter-operable Systems)... [Pg.371]

The SPL specification is a document markup standard that specifies the structure and semantics for the regulatory requirements and content of product labeling. The SPL is derived from the HL7 clinical document architecture (CDA), which specifies the structure and semantics of "clinical documents" for the purpose of exchange. This specification includes a detailed descriphon of the information model for structured product labeling objects as well as the XML representahon of that model. The information model is based on the HL7 reference informahon model (RIM) and uses the HL7 Version 3 Data Types, (see footnote ) This version of the specificahon focuses on drug product labeling. [Pg.482]

Performance. So far, the deep-basin still has been operated only under batch-type control—that is, without continuous blowdown or heat exchange to the incoming sea water. In determining the performance of the still, incident solar radiation and distillate production are measured daily. From this information, the specific production in gallons per square foot per day and the thermal efficiency can be determined. In addition to the daily collection of performance data, hourly collections are made during periodic energy- and mass-balance runs. [Pg.172]
