Process specification sheets Appendix

Mechanical design specification sheets (Appendix B) summarize the information that a fabricator needs in addition to the general specifications of the vessel codes. Not all of the data on the specification summary are necessarily in the province of the process engineer it may depend on the stage of the design and on who else in the organization is available to do the work. [Pg.626]

FLOSHEET is part of a suite of programs called PROCEDE which has been developed for the efficient handling of all the information needed in process design. It aims to cover the complete process environment, using graphical user interfaces to facilitate the transfer of information, Preece et al. (1991). The equipment specification sheets given in Appendix G are from the PROCEDE package. [Pg.141]

Each process unit described in Section 9 should refer to the page number in the appendix on which the design calculations appear or are described. Note that the latter calculations are usually printed neatly, and when done by computer, the printed output is carefully annotated. In addition, the description for each process unit should refer to a corresponding specification sheet, discussed below, which is assembled with the other specification sheets in Section 10. Finally, the descriptions should refer to the installed and operating costs for the process unit in cost summaries, discussed below. [Pg.768]

The MPIs should be dated and updated in a controlled manner. The MPIs should also include the appropriate materials safety data sheets (MSDSs) for the materials being used. In many cases the MPIs should be reviewed with the R D staff that have been involved in writing the specifications to ensure that mistakes are not made. The R D staff should be included in process review meetings for the same reason (see Appendix A). In some cases, MPIs and specifications must be written from an existing process. Care must be taken that the operators reveal all of the important steps and parameters to the person documenting the process. [Pg.18]
