Printer Setup. .., Print

Printer Setup... allows you to select and configure the output device from a list of all devices known to the MS-WINDOWS operating environment. Print... open.s the same dialog box, but includes the plot command.

The last item in the menu bar is (Output), which contains the selections (Setup Printer), (Setup Print Job), (Print Graph and Main Results), (Print Table of Detailed Results), and (Copy to Clipboard). 

This program uses TrueType fonts to display information in each window. When you print these windows, you need to make sure that the Print TrueType fonts as Graphics option is enabled under the Printer Setup options. Options vary for various printers and their corresponding printer drivers, but most printer drivers either have this option or (less commonly) print TrueType fonts as graphics all the time. If this option is not selected, the printer will probably pick one of its built-in fonts, causing the printout to look different from what is displayed on the screen. 

The box is the scalable entity, which is assigned to a defined rectangular area on the printer, see (SetUp Print Job). 

If necessary select the Printer Setup... button and setup your printing device. 

To start the printout operation the Print... option in the Output pull-down menu is used. If there is more than one window on the screen choosing the Print... option - and using the mouse - allows you to specify the window which should be plotted. If all windows should be plotted, use the Print all option. With Printer Setup... a variety of output device specific parameters defining the resolution, the paper size and other printer variables, may be set. 

You ve set up a network printer. However, you cannot print from your DOS-based programs. What did you do wrong during printer setup ... 

Once you get the desired graph on the screen, you probably want to make a hard copy. To print, hit the SPACE key to bring up the graph customization dialog box shown above. Notice the "Print" and "Printer Setup" items on the bottom line of the dialog. To print, you move the cursor over the "Print" item and hit the ENTER key. ChemSep will send the graph to the printer identified by the "Printer Setup" menu. 

Over 100 variables have been identified that affect the screen-printing process, ranging from the paste properties to the printer setup to the screen properties. Only a few of these are witiiin the control of the process engineer. Adjustments in tiiese parameters can compensate for most of the remainder. 

In the off-contact printing process, tiiis is arguably the most important parameter in the screen printer setup. If it is too large, the screen will rapidly lose tension and the print will lose definition. If it is too small, the tension on the screen during the print will not be sufficient to transfer the paste to the substrate. Referring to Figure 5.19, the magnitude of snap-off is dependent on the size of the screen, with a ratio of maximum screen dimension to snap-off of 200 1. A list of typical snap-off distances for a sample of standard-size screens is shown in Table 5.3.

The process parameters key to the stencil printing process include the squeegee type and hardness, print speed, print pressure, and print gap. An optimal stencil printer setup provides a clean sweep on the stencil surface and a repeatable solder paste deposition process. Shore A scale polyurethane squeegee hardness level between 85 to 95 is appropriate to achieve repeatable solder deposits for lead-free solder pastes. Print parameters such as the print speed, print pressure, and the print gap are adjusted to accommodate the variety of solder paste rheologies available. There are no specific equipment modifications necessary to stencil printer lead-free solder pastes. 

In the display in Figure 1.26, as usual, a Print command button is available so that hard copies of the polynomial functions can be generated on your local printer. Depending on the screen size of your monitor, it may be necessary to use the Setup command button, in order to bring all of the basis functions into view using the Zoom, scroll and centring controls. 

Some printer drivers can t be installed using the Add Printer Wizard. You must run SETUP or INSTALL from the disk to install the printing software. These programs will not only install the correct printer drivers, they will also set up the printer for use with Windows. In this case, you won t have to run the APW (in fact, it won t work because you can t select the right driver). 

C. During setup, you must point a local printer port name out to the network. This process is known as capturing. During normal setup, the default to capture a printer port is No. If the Add Printer Wizard is run again and the answer to the Capture Printer Port question is changed to Yes, your printer should then be able to print from DOS-based programs. 

B, D. There are printers for which the APW does not work. In such instances, you will need to run SETUP or INSTALL from the vendor printer disk to install the appropriate printing software. 

A default printer can be defined using the dialog box Print Setup shown in Fig. 6.7. Here you can specify the paper size and orientation they will be kept as default for further OPUS printouts. 

Use the Print Setup command from the Print menu to define the printer and the print parameters like paper size and print quality (see Fig. 6.7). Clicking on the Properties button opens another dialog box. The settings shown will depend on the model of your printer.
