Principles of safety control

Application of the principles of safety control to manufacturing processes... [Pg.297]

The principles of safety control should be considered, especially the principle of separation and isolation. [Pg.302]

The action principle of safety culture, principle of attitude and behavior and accident triangle principle can explain the action principle zero accident . Improving the safety management system, correcting people s unsafe behavior, controlling near misses and other small incidents are the effective way to achieve zero accidents objective for enterprise. [Pg.729]

Until the A3 50, flight controls did not use common hardware and software resources. However, it is possible to integrate some functions of FBW computers if the principles of safety and availabihty described above are met. [Pg.214]

Title Safety of Machinery - Safety Related Parts of Control Systems Description Parts of machinery control systems are fi equently assigned to perform safety functions. Part 1 of this standard provides safety requirements and guidance on the general principles of safety related parts of control systems. Part 2 specifies the validation process including both analysis and testing for the safety functions and categories for the safety-related control systems. [Pg.30]

Storage and receiving are activities that can greatly contribute to a safe and economic operation. It is here that quality control can be achieved at minimal cost. Label verification and other quality assurance measures can increase the confidence level that the correct chemicals have arrived, thereby potentially circumventing the use of wrong chemicals. Wrongly shipped chemicals can be returned to the manufacturer with minimal or no cost to the batch operation owner. As with all processes and activities it is of great importance to apply the principles of inherent safety, in particular the minimization and attenuation principles (CCPS G- 41). [Pg.106]

Process safety management is based on the principle that appropriate management systems are needed in every area that has an impact on operational safety, from design through operation and maintenance to decommissioning. This same principle can be applied to other asp>ects of safety, health, and environmental control. [Pg.188]

Chemical contaminants are usually not reduced or removed by processing steps. Chemical risks must preferably be controlled as early as possible in the agri-food chain. Food color additives (Section 7.1.3) are chemical compounds and are considered potential risks. Therefore a safety evaluation is part of the approval of a food colorant before its use is acknowledged by legislation (see also Section 7.1.6). This section explains the principles of risk assessment and includes an example of such an assessment of a specific food colorant. [Pg.566]

The safety of a chemical process can be achieved through internal (inherent) and external means. The inherent safety (Kletz, 1984) is related to the intrinsic properties of the process e.g. the use of safer chemicals and operations. The essence of the inherent safety is to avoid and remove hazards rather than to control them by added-on protective systems, which is the principle of external safety. The largest payoffs are achieved by verifying that inherent safety has been considered early and often in the process and engineering design (Lutz, 1997). [Pg.13]
