The Study Director is the pivotal person in any GLP study. The sponsor initiates the study and assigns a Study Director to act as the primary control point for all aspects of the study. The Processing Principle Investigator (PPI) acts as an agent of the Study Director and handles the processing phase of the study. The PPI reports directly to the Study Director, and quality assurance (QA) documents resulting from the processing phase are sent to the Study Director for approval. The studies described above are important proof-of-principle investigations pointing to a debate about the carcinogenic hazard of MWNTs in the abdominal cavity. There are a number of open questions that need to be resolved before a final assessment can be made. Study director means the individual responsible for the overall conduct of the study. Principle investigator means the individual who acts on behalf of the study director in case of multi site studies. Master schedule means a compilation of information to assist in the assessment of the workload and the tracking of studies at a test facility. 

In other words test stand investigations can be subdivided on the basis of two fundamentally different goals the principle focus of the test stand methods described below and the corresponding test protocol is to determine material-specific emission data with the aid of vehicle-specific emission rates (ER). If exposure is to be considered insofar as it affects health the boundary conditions of the investigations (air exchange, temperature) would need to be modified to correspond to a realistic exposure scenario.
