Polyethyleneglycol

Bihmbin oxidase [80619-01 -8] derived from Mjrothecium verrucaria was modified with polyethyleneglycol when this conjugate was injected intravenously to jaundiced rats, the plasma bihmbin dropped to normal levels. This approach might have potential in the treatment of hyperbihmbinemia, fulminant hepatitis, and neonatal bihmbin encephalopathy (177). [Pg.312]

Small amounts of pyridine have been purified by vapour-phase chromatography, using a 180-cm column of polyethyleneglycol-4(X) (Shell 5%) on Embacel (May and Baker) at 100°, with argon as carrier gas. The Karl Fischer titration can be used for determining water content. A colour test for pyrrole as a contaminant is described by Biddiscombe et al. [J Ghent Soc 1957 1 954]. [Pg.343]

By a modified procedure using polyethyleneglycol as complexing agent a para-selective reaction can be achieved. ... [Pg.239]

Homopolymerization of macroazoinimers and co-polymerization of macroinimers with a vinyl monomer yield crosslinked polyethyleneglycol or polyethyleneglycol-vinyl polymer-crosslinked block copolymer, respectively. The homopolymers and block copolymers having PEG units with molecular weights of 1000 and 1500 still showed crystallinity of the PEG units in the network structure [48] and the second heating thermograms of polymers having PEG-1000 and PEG-1500 units showed that the recrystallization rates were very fast (Fig. 3). [Pg.730]

Naoi and co-workers [55], with a QCM, studied lithium deposition and dissolution processes in the presence of polymer surfactants in an attempt to obtain the uniform current distribution at the electrode surface and hence smooth surface morphology of the deposited lithium. The polymer surfactants they used were polyethyleneglycol dimethyl ether (molecular weight 446), or a copolymer of dimethylsilicone (ca. 25 wt%) and propylene oxide (ca. 75 wt%) (molecular weight 3000) in LiC104-EC/DMC (3 2, v/v). [Pg.348]

Protoplast fusion induced by polyethyleneglycol and Ca was carried out between two auxotrophic mutants of Aspergillus sp. CH-Y-1043. The hybrids obtained showed significant differences in endopectinase activity and morphology compared to the prototrophic strain. Strains grown on lemon peel showed production improvement with respect to the parental strain. Since H15 hybrid showed up to 90% higher endopectinase production than the wild type CH-Y-1043, kinetics of enzyme production in Fernbach flasks and Fermentor (14L) by H15 were determined. [Pg.893]

Reaction of phenyl vinyl ketone with cyclopentanone under thermal conditions resulted in a diastereomeric mixture of 1,5,9-triketones 374 via a double Michael reaction. Treatment of this mixture with ammonium formate in polyethyleneglycol-200 under microwave irradiation conditions led to the very fast and efficient formation of a 2 1 diastereomeric mixture of cyclopental flquinolizidines 375 and 376 <2002T2189>. When this reductive amination-cyclization procedure was carried out starting from the purified /ra r-isomer of 374, the result was identical to that obtained from the cis-trans mixture, showing the operation of thermodynamic control (Scheme 86). [Pg.54]

A wide range of additives can also be introduced into the sol-gel matrices in order to modulate the hydrophobicity of the materials and to improve enzyme stability, activity and accessibility, leading to hybrid or even composite sol-gel matrices. Polymers [157,179,180] such as polyethyleneglycol, polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyvinylalcohol, polyglycidol, polyethyleneimine, polyacrylate have been simultaneously entrapped with enzymes in a siloxane matrix, as well as organic additives (sugar, amino add)... [Pg.466]
