Polyaciylates

Rossi et al. [30] evaluated rheologically mucins of different origin with polyacrylic acid and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose. The same group also reported a novel rheological approach based on a stationary viscoelastic test (creep test) to describe the interaction between mucoadhesive polymers and mucins [31,32]. Jabbari et al. [33] used attenuated total-reflection infrared spectroscopy to investigate the ehain interpenetration of polyaciylic acid in the mucin interface. [Pg.177]

Geysen et al. [1] introduced this method for generating peptides in a reusable form. In this method, peptides are synthesized on polyaciylate-grafted polyethylene pins arranged in standard 96-well microtiter plate format, and screening is performed by an enzyme-... [Pg.197]

Enokida et al. (1993) measured hole mobilities of dispersions of y-TiOPc in a series of polymers polyaciylate (PA), polycarbonate (PC), polyester (PES), poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), poly(styrene) (PS), polysulfone (PSL), poly(vinyl butyral) (PVB), and poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK). Over a wide range of fields and temperatures, the results followed a logn < pE relationship. The temperature dependencies were described by an Arrhenius relationship with slopes that decreased with increasing field. For all temperatures, the maximum mobilities were observed at approximately 30% TiOPc. The results were also dependent on the specific form of the pigment as well as the polymer. Figure 81 shows the results obtained with different polymers. The TiOPc concentration was 30% and the temperature 295 K. [Pg.442]

Polyparaphenylenevinylene based macro-initiator 2 was used for NMRP of various monomers (styrene, methyl aciylate, butyl acrylate). From this compound various well defined rod-coil blocks copolymers with polystyrene and polyaciylate based coil blocks have been obtained. Furthermore, in each case, it is possible to random copolymeiize a second monomer for instance chloromethylstiyrene. The first monomer determines mechanical properties and phase transitions of the coil block, for example, bytulacrylate based coils have low Tg and can provide easy processabihty towards thin films. The second monomer (between 5% and 10% in molar ratio) provides the introduction of functional moieties which are necessary for a further modification in order to tune the electronic properties of the copolymer. NMRP from DEH-PPV macroinitiator 2 is schematically presented in Figure 2. [Pg.246]

Branched side chains, particularly if the branched point is located close to the main chain, increase the glass transition temperature. This is illustrated in Figures 13.29 and 13.30 fora series of polyaciylates and polyolefins with branched side chains, respectively. [Pg.377]

Beside from the polyaiylsulphonate polymers—SMF and SNF, the polycarboxylate (e.g. polyaciylates) polymers PA belong nowadays to the most commonly used superplasticizers (Fig. 6.90) [372], All these polymers dissociate in water, in the case of the first anions with the sulphonate groups -SO3 and the second—carboxylate -C(X) groups are formed. [Pg.495]

In the most of these polymers the polyaciylate or polymetaciylate main chain is present with a number of side chains. The poly-oxy-ethylene, poly-oxy-propyl-ene, as well as the poly-ether and ether-ester mers or their mix occurs mainly as the side chains (Figs. 6.95 and 6.96). These side chains are plotted as perpendicular to... [Pg.500]
