Poker

Most polymeric Hquid crystals are based on stiff rod-like molecular units which are called calamitic mesogens. There are some unusual polymers (which are not discussed here) that contain flat disk-like molecular units called discotic mesogens in which the disks form columnar arrays like stacks of poker chips. 

If no gas is detected, light and then insert the poker (or switch on the electric igniter).

Children Pain interviews may be conducted with children as young as 3 or 4 years of age however, communication may be limited by vocabulary.34 Terms familiar to children such as hurt, owie, or boo boo may be used to describe pain. The VAS is best used with children older than 7 years of age. Other scales based on numbers of objects (e.g., poker chips), increasing color intensity, or faces of pain may be helpful for children between 4 and 7 years of age. In children younger than 3 to 4 years of age, behavioral or physiologic measures, such as pulse or respiratory rate, may be more appropriate. Pain assessment in newborns and infants relies on behavioral observation for such clues as vocalizations (crying and fussing), facial expressions,...

I ve been unhealthy all of my life but didn t realize I was chemically sensitive until I stopped smoking, in my thirties. All I know for sure is he was one pissed off guy. He might have had some money in his pocket, but he sure wasn t happy.

A standard deck of playing cards has four different suits (spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs) and 13 different cards in each suit. Whether you re playing poker or bridge or hearts or euchre, the probability of a particular card or a particular suit plays a big part in the result of the game. The rest of the game depends on your skill and your partner. 

Liner Propellant Bonding. The bonding properties of a typical CTPB liner and propellant system to a nitrile rubber insulation are shown in Table XIII. These data were obtained from 4-in. diameter "poker chip (4) specimens with a diameter to thickness ratio of 20 1. Refinement of the poker chip test to include a center load cell in one of the bonded plates is reported by Harbert 40). Figure 19 shows the stress-strain curves generated by external measurement as well as the failure point determined by the center load cell.

In a recent attempt to bring an engineering approach to multiaxial failure in solid propellants, Siron and Duerr (92) tested two composite double-base formulations under nine distinct states of stress. The tests included triaxial poker chip, biaxial strip, uniaxial extension, shear, diametral compression, uniaxial compression, and pressurized uniaxial extension at several temperatures and strain rates. The data were reduced in terms of an empirically defined constraint parameter which ranged from —1.0 (hydrostatic compression) to +1.0 (hydrostatic tension). The parameter () is defined in terms of principal stresses and indicates the tensile or compressive nature of the stress field at any point in a structure —i.e.,... 

It is clear that the quenched material has lamellae that are both thinner in the chain direction and smaller in lateral extent. Both these parameters increase with slower rates of cooling. So, too, does density. The microstructure of PTFE prepared this way may be likened to a pack of rods (the helical polymer chains), which in turn comprise lamellar crystals. Consider a hexagonal poker chip as a macroscopic analogue of one lamella. The diameter of die poker chip is the lamellar breadth and its thin dimension is the lamellar thickness.
