N. A. M. Rodger describes in his book The Insatiable Earl A Life of John Montagnu, Fourth Earl of Sandwich (Harper Collins, London, 1993), that the Earl did not like to intercept his card play, not even for the meals, and ordered his kitchen staff to prepare double slices of bread filled with sausage or cheese, which he could eat while playing. This passion made him immortal for all time and the word sandwich became a familiar term since the late eighteenth century. 

The most important issue in sound card qualify as it relates to MIDI is synthesis of the data into sound. Up until this point, the quality of your sound card has not mattered very much when working with ACID. Beyond a certain basic level, all sound cards play back and output audio files with fairly high fidelity. Of course, there may be important differences in the quality of the card itself, such as whether it outputs analog or digital signals and how electronically quiet it is, but essentially all cards play back media files the same way. Even consumer-level hardware outputs very high-quality sound. MIDI is a different story.

Today the most important applications are in surface coatings, including some use as French polish, as adhesives and cements, including valve capping and optical cements, for playing card finishes and for floor polishes. The material also continues to be used for hat stiffening and in the manufacture of sealing wax.

This is the one example in which metal is not the substrate. Corrosion takes on a new meaning the coating here is required to protect the substrate from direct attack by corrosive substances, from water to more powerful household or industrial chemicals, such as grease, alcohols and bleach. MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE EVENTS events that cannot occur simultaneously. For example, when a die is rolled, a five can be rolled, or a six can be rolled, but both a five and a six cannot be rolled simultaneously. So rolling a five and rolling a six are mutually exclusive. However, in a deck of standard playing cards, when a card is chosen, the card can be a spade, or the card can be a queen. A spade and a queen can be chosen, so choosing a spade and choosing a queen are NOT mutually exclusive.
