Plug-in unit

Nicad (nickel-cadmium) batteries can be recharged in a plug-in unit such as this one. IMAGE COPYRIGHT 2009, WETC. USED UNDER LICENSE FROM SHUTTERSTOCK.COM. [Pg.83]

The measurement module (Fig. 47) consists of a plastic case and a plug-in unit. The module comprises an interference filter that selects the wavelength required for the measurement. All the data (including the calibration results) relevant for measuring the analyte, are stored in the microchip, this being another element of the instrument. A measurement module can be used exclusively for only one particular method. [Pg.441]

The reagent carrier should remain in the instrument for at least 2 minutes, since the moisture must distribute uniformly within the hollow sphere to ensure that the inside area is well moisturised. The plug-in unit is then removed and the reagent carrier is discarded. This hydratisation of the internal area of the hollow sphere is imperative no calibrations or measurements should be performed before this has been accomplished. If this precaution is disregarded, measurements will be imprecise and incorrect. [Pg.443]

Disengage plug-in unit stabs from vertical bus. Connect control and power wiring to units. [Pg.681]

The instrument is designed so that by the selection of the proper plug-in units and the proper programming almost any volumetric laboratory procedure can be duplicated with better precision and accuracy than is normally obtainable in the laboratory. [Pg.4]

Another common method of obtaining accurate time marks, with a small amplitude dependent time walk, is the constant fraction method. A circuit example may be taken from Canberra s Model 2035A constant fraction timing SCA, see Fig. 7.4. The plug-in unit differs from the one previously discussed essentially in the All input circuits. [Pg.150]

Self-contained, independent engine-driven plug-type units used in tmck and tmck/trailers range in capacity from 6 to 12 kW to maintain trailer temperatures of 20°C in 38°C ambients. At trailer temperatures of — 18°C in 38°C ambients, capacities range from 2—6 kW. [Pg.69]

In the 1930s when high-pressure natural gas (95% methane) pipelines were being built in the United States, it was found that the lines often became plugged in cold weather by a white, waxy solid that contained both water and methane (CFIJ molecules. Twenty years later. Walter Claussen at the University of Illinois deduced Ihe structure of that solid, a hydrate of methane. Notice (Figure B) that CH4 molecules are trapped within a three-dimensional cage of H20 molecules. [Pg.66]

If the nurse is responsible for administering the medication by nebulization, it is important to place the patient in a location where he can sit comfortably for 10 to 15 minutes. The compressor is plugged in and the medication mixed as directed, or the prepared unit dose vial is emptied into the nebulizer. Different types of medication are not mixed without checking with the physician or the pharmacist. The mask or mouthpiece is assembled and the tubing connected to the compressor. The patient is placed in a comfortable, upright position with the mask over the nose and mouth. The mask must fit properly so that the mist does not flow up into the eyes. If using a mouthpiece instead of a mask, have the patient place the mouthpiece into the mouth. The compressor is turned on and the patient instructed to take slow, deep breaths. If possible, the patient should hold his breath for 10 seconds before slowly exhaling. The treatment is continued until the medication chamber is empty. After treatment, the mask is washed with hot, soapy water, rinsed well, and allowed to air dry. [Pg.342]

When a minimum of signal processing is required, analog data can be input through an A/D unit which plugs in directly to the cartridge port of the ST computer (4.) or into a slot of an IBM. [Pg.12]

A reactor system consists of 2 CSTRs and a plug flow unit as shown on the sketch. In the CSTRs the change in concentration is 95% of the change in... [Pg.333]

Make sure the unit is plugged in. Then turn the on-off switch to ON. The light at the end of the moveable arm should come on. [Pg.224]

Each of the model frameworks in Figure 11.10 could come with a default implementation framework. Our design, at the level of framework-sized components, would look like Figure 11.11. Each of the framework components has its plug-points suitably filled by implementation units from this problem domain. Thus, the instructor allocator has Instructor and Session as plug-ins for Resource and Job and the trend monitor has Session and Topic plugged in for Indication and Product. [Pg.492]

An aqueous reactant stream (4 mol A/liter) passes through a mixed flow reactor followed by a plug flow reactor. Find the concentration at the exit of the plug flow reactor if in the mixed flow reactor = 1 mol/liter. The reaction is second-order with respect to A, and the volume of the plug flow unit is three times that of the mixed flow unit. [Pg.147]

L. You re given the initial volume and initial temperature of the balloon as well as the balloon s final temperature. Apply Charles s law, plugging in the known values and solving for the final volume. Be careful — you need to express all temperatures in units of kelvins by adding 273 to Celsius temperatures, so your initial temperature is 313 K (40.0°C -i- 273), and your final temperature is 323 K (50.0°C -i- 273) ... [Pg.165]

C. Charles s law is the method here. The unknown is the final temperature, T. You re given an initial temperature as well as the initial and final volumes. After converting the initial temperature to units of kelvins (20.0°C+273 = 293 K), plug in the known values and solve for final temperature ... [Pg.166]
