Placement lists

Component Placement List. Component placement lists (CPL) are ASCII or spreadsheet files used to transfer component x, y locations if CAD data files are not sent. CPL files are usually minimally formatted into columns. Required columns are the reference designator, X, y locations, and component rotation. In Fig. 18.15, the example CPL file also includes CAD package information.
