Piped decorations

Plastic products are made by a variety of basic manufacturing processes. As an example a major method such as extrusion has subdivisions that include profile, pipe, tube, film, sheet, coating, post forming, etc. equipment In injection molding there are subdivisions such as coinjection, gas assist, foam, inmold decorating, etc. equipment. There are literally hundreds of processes used with only about the dozen, as reviewed in this chapter, that are principally used (2). [Pg.442]

Colors in a laboratory should be coordinated, just as in a home. If pre-finished work benches are to be installed, they might set the color scheme. While they are available in several colors or combination of colors, the choice is not unlimited. In one case, the laboratory operator was color blind, so his wife took over the job as decorator. First, she selected a two-color scheme for the work benches. Color chips in hand, she then chose a floor covering from a number of samples submitted. For the wall paint, she found a standard color of the recommended quality that harmonized with the cabinets. A few appropriate charts and a colorful cloth wall-hanging of pipes and valves completed the decor. The result received many favorable comments from visitors to the facility. [Pg.71]

Several possible applications of concrete-polymer material includes sewer and pressure pipe, building material for housing, underwater structures, railroad ties, and chemically resistant material of construction for large desalination plants. The incorporation of colored dyes with the monomer allows concrete-polymer material to be considered for various esthetic applications, such as in decorative wall and floor tile. [Pg.571]

The room was a drawing room, but Trix set about reading it. Not the decor - that would be like watching Shakespeare and interpreting the scenery, and in any case it was fairly simple in a gaudy sort of way, all white panelling with piped blue and gold, like a skilled cake decorator had practiced on the walls. No, her attention was on the characters, as she was introduced to each of them. [Pg.92]

Refrigerate the frosting for 30 minutes before spreading it on the cake. If the frosting is too thick, allow it to stand at room temperature to soften. Reserve I cup frosting for the piping, if you will be decorating the cake. [Pg.54]

Tint some OF THE FROSTING pink and pipe polka dots or hearts all over, or simply decorate the cake with organic flowers (these can be found at a farmers market). [Pg.61]

If you re making cupcakes, frost the cupcakes with fuchsia butter-cream in big swirls (page 234)- Place the cupcakes on a cake stand, decorate them with clusters of three small flowers, and pipe with dark centers. Place single small butterflies on some of the cupcakes. [Pg.69]

Our houses are built of wood (cellulose and lignin), sheathed with particleboard (wood chips pressed with plastic resin), wrapped with plastic sheeting, clad with siding (vinyl), and decorated with plastic shutters. Buildings with wood siding are covered with paint. Inside, water flows through plastic pipes, the floors are covered with tiles (vinyl) or carpeting (polyester, nylon), the walls are covered with wallpaper (vinyl) or painted (acrylics), and the... [Pg.3]

Steatite, soapstone and other soft rocks are often used by carvers to make decorative and useful objects, like this pipe. [Pg.48]
