There is evidence684,685,685 for the attachment of phenolic components (ferulic and coumaric acids) both to / -(l— 4)-linked D-galactose and a-(l— 3)-linked L-arabinose in the primary cell-wall, suggesting feruloylation-coumaroylation of pectic neutral side-chains.
