The in vivo pesticidal screening was performed by the Agricultural Research Division, American Cyancunid Co., Princeton, NJ Research Laboratories, Rohm and Haas Co., Spring House, PA and Agricultural Chemicals Research and Development, Uniroyal Chemical, Uniroyal Inc., Bethany, CT. This research was funded in part by the American Heart Association, Delaware Chapter. 

Compoimds 2, 3, 4, and 5 were submitted for pesticidal screening. It was found that 4 selectively controlled southern arm3rworm (Spodoptera eridania) at a spray concentration of 600 ppm. A dose response study of this compound indicated lead level activity with an LCso = 19 ppm against the same species. Compoimds 2 and 3, in contrast, were much less active.
