Peroxide-based agents

The polyester alkyd moulding compositions are also based on a resin similar to those used for laminating. They are prepared by blending the resin with cellulose pulp, mineral filler, lubricants, pigments and peroxide curing agents on... [Pg.711]

As mentioned earlier, larval feed companies, for these reasons, have developed specialized products which contain bacteriostatic agents to keep bacterial loads within acceptable levels. These include specially treated cysts, enrichment products with bacteriostatic properties, or separate formulations which can be added to the Artemia hatching or enrichment medium. Also at the research level, several attempts have been made to disinfect Artemia nauplii (e.g. Gatesoupe, 2002 Tolomei et al., 2004 Gimenez et al., 2006). These include treatment of either cysts or the hatched nauplii with biocides (e.g. formaldehyde), UV, ozone or peroxide-based products. Apart from the fact that these treatments might cause considerable mortality to the nauplii or reduce their vigour, they might also pose potential risk to the predator larvae they are fed to, because of residues or toxic by-products produced due to these treatments. [Pg.179]

Halogens, concentrated strong acids, peroxides, oxidizing agents Ammonia, glass, organic bases... [Pg.199]

Because TAML activators convert the relatively innocuous hydrogen peroxide into a much more efficient and potent oxidant, there will be fewer instances, where chlorine-based agents are required. In turn, this will reduce the chances that hazardous quantities of chlorine gas, liquids, or chlorinated waste could pose a threat to public health and safety. [Pg.35]

Eliminate Thiourea. Thiourea is a known carcinogen which has been nsed as a chelating agent in Sn/Pb stripping baths. A peroxide-based bath can be snbstitnted when the etch resist is acid tin, thus eliminating this concern. [Pg.1448]

Uses Thickening agent, foaming agenL foam booster, foam stabilizer, antistatic agent in scale-removing liqs., liq. soaps, hydrochlorite and hydrogen peroxide based prods. [Pg.100]

Reductions. Hydrazine is a very strong reducing agent. In the presence of oxygen and peroxides, it yields primarily nitrogen and water with more or less ammonia and hydrazoic acid [7782-79-8]. Based on standard electrode potentials, hydrazine in alkaline solution is a stronger reductant than sulfite but weaker than hypophosphite in acid solution, it falls between and Ti ( 7). [Pg.277]

The mechanism of this reaction involves an activation of the ammonia and hydrogen peroxide because these compounds do not themselves react (118—121). It appears that acetamide functions as an oxygen transfer agent, possibly as the iminoperacetic acid (41) which then oxidizes the transient Schiff base formed between MEK and ammonia (40) to give the oxaziridine (42), with regeneration of acetamide ... [Pg.284]
