Perfume long-lasting

Orange Flower. Extraction of freshly picked flowers of the bitter orange tree, dims aurantium (subspecies amard) for the production of concrete is carried out mainly ia Morocco and Tunisia. Most of this material is processed further to give orange flower absolute, one of the most important absolutes used ia perfumes after rose and jasmine. It is highly valued ia perfumery, even when used at low levels, for its long-lasting, rich, warm, yet dehcate and fresh floralcy. The material is a complex mixture, to which methyl anthranilate [134-20-3] linalool (3), methyl jasmonate (15), and iadole (16) are important odor contributors. [Pg.79]

R = H, C9H10O4, Mr 182,18, mp 130.5-131.6 °C, forms an off-white powder with long-lasting moss odor, slightly reminiscent of oakmoss and strong seaside in character. It is used in small amounts to provide marine effects to perfumes. [Pg.141]

An inventor claims to have developed a perfume that lasts a long time because it doesn t evaporate. Comment on this claim. [Pg.249]

Perfumery materials differ widely in their volatility, from those that last only a few minutes on a smelling strip to those that are still there after several weeks. It is usual therefore (Poucher 1955 Carles 1961) to divide materials into three groups the base notes which are the most long lasting the middle notes, or modifiers, which are of medium volatility and the top notes which are the most volatile. The balance between these three groups of materials in a formula is of great importance to the way in which the perfume diffuses during its evaporation and to its aesthetic quality. [Pg.83]

In a well-constructed fine fragrance the heart of the perfume needs to be contained within the lower part of the composition, since this part will remain on the skin for many hours after application. Many of these long-lasting materials, as pointed out by Carles, are rather unpleasant when smelled initially and it is part of the function of the modifiers and finally the top notes to subdue and round off the character of these products in the final accord. [Pg.84]

U.S. 2004/0018955 01/2004 Wevers et al.l Procter Gamble Pro-perfume composition comprising an amino functional component and a benefit agent that is stably suspended in a liquid detergent. Provides enhanced deposition and a long-lasting release on the treated fabric... [Pg.308]

Due to its excellent stability and long-lasting properties it is recommended for nearly all perfumery applications, especially for fine fragrances, for personal care, and for fabric care perfumes. (E)- and (Z)-8-Cyclohexadecenone have been identified as a minor constituents of civet absolute (see p. 185) [126a],... [Pg.95]

The CD complexes are compatible with thermoplastic resins. Mixing a dry pulverized CD eomplex of a perfume, for example, a geraniol aCD complex, with a thermoplastic resin (polyethylene), and molding it, yielded plastic products with a long-lasting (at least 6 months) fragrance. Rapid loss of the perfume by volatility and thermal decomposition can be avoided in this way. [Pg.411]

Fine fragrances must work on the skin and blend with body odor. They must be pleasant, diffusive, substantive (long-lasting), and have the quality of genuine beauty as well as signature characteristics that distinguish them from each other. For most fine fragrances, the perfumes are themselves the products. They are sold to the consumer at various... [Pg.125]

N.B. Utilisation in the long-lasting perfume compositions [5852]. l,l-(2,2, 4,4 -Tetrabydroxy[l,l -bipbenyl]-3, 5,5 -tetrayl)tetralds-etbanone... [Pg.1594]

In learning to recognize materials, students should also conduct evaporation tests to see how long each material retains its characteristic note on the smelling strip. Some materials last no more than a few hours, while others are still recognizable after several days. Such results should be carefully recorded, and the records will form the basis for a student s later understanding of the importance of comparative volatilities in the structure of a perfume. [Pg.10]

Apart from the creativity that expresses itself in novel odor accords and effects, there is also the inventiveness that leads to new solutions to such problems as masking the base note of a particularly unpleasant-smelling functional product or achieving outstanding diffusion and lasting power in a low-price soap perfume. The question whether the two—we might call them aesthetic and technical creativity—are different in kind has long divided the perfumery profession. Suffice it to say that technical creativity is, from a commercial point of view, every bit as valuable as the aesthetic kind. [Pg.307]
