Paper Special Requirements

In this paper we present simulations and measurements of several types of excitation coils, which match the special requirements for a SQUID based eddy current NDE system. We note however that all calculations presented here on penetration depths, current distributions and crack-detecting algorithms are also useful for conventional eddy current testing systems. [Pg.255]

Last but not least, there has been an issue of the regulatory environment that cannot be avoided (Paal 1987). Hungary is an associated country to the European Union (EU). Harmonization of the present Hungarian medicines legal system with that of the EU, with special emphasis on the White Paper harmonization requirements (European Commission 1995) requires a more detailed discussion. [Pg.183]

Using this formulation, a process was then developed to produce lightweight wallboard. The surfaces of the foamed board were compressed or densified to produce relatively high smoothness. Paper sheets normally used to cover wallboard were applied to both sides simultaneously with the compression action. The excellent adhesive character of the sulfur produced tight bonding, and no special treatment of the paper was required. [Pg.89]

Sixth, the special requirements applicable to the particular mode or modes of transportation for the given shipment involved must be reviewed so as to assure that these requirements are met, includii, for example, those that impose particular quantity limitations on transportation by certain modes, additional shipping paper requirements, and difiering requirements for passenger, as opposed to cargo-only aircraft and vessels. ... [Pg.360]

In the paper industry the quality of industrial water is considered very important since it directly influences the properties of paper. Water should be colourless, clear and must not contain iron, manganese, humin and other substances which could cause colouration or staining of paper. The requirements for the production of special papers (e.g. cigarette paper, filtration paper, paper for packing the food, medical instruments, etc.) are even more demanding, since this water must also be hygienically safe [1, 13]. [Pg.200]

In the same paper, it is also pointed out that there are no special requirements regarding vitamin additions to the medium. [Pg.175]

The primary purpose of this chapter Is to review the types of devices that are being used In the human body at the present time as artificial organs, prosthetic devices or general Implants. Subsequent chapters In this book will consider some of these devices, etc. In more detail. In a similar manner, other papers consider the various polymeric and non-polymerlc materials that are used and discuss the specialized requirements for these applications. These areas are covered In this paper only slightly since they are discussed In detail elsewhere. [Pg.3]

Group I - is similar waste to urban waste. It does not present special requirements in its treatment. For example, waste from the general services (medical offices), support services (workshops, gardens) and packing can be cited (paper, card). The destination of the waste is incineration and land filling. [Pg.198]

Seals and Breathers. It is recognized that gear drives applied in certain industries and atmospheric conditions should be equipped with special oil seals and breathers. Extremely dusty or corrosive environments as well as severe moisture and vapor-laden atmospheres have special requirements. Applications subject to direct or indirect washdown, such as paper, food, and drug industries, may preclude use of breathers. In these cases, expansion chambers may be used. [Pg.522]

There are only a few key parameters which influence the hardness of a roll (Fig. 6.74). These are web tension, line force and center torque. As, for example, some paper grades only allow low web tension to avoid breaks at the winder this parameter often cannot be used for optimi2ation of roll hardness. So the main parameter is the line force which usually varies between 1 and 6 kN m. Line force can be applied either by the reel drum or the paper roll. The center torque applied on the reel spool is the third tool to build a good roll structure. There are different reel types combining these parameters in different ways depending on the special requirements of the individual paper grades to be reeled. [Pg.309]

The paper machine layout and operating conditions differ according to the special requirements of the grades produced as regards... [Pg.318]

Modern winders are equipped with PC/PLC technologies. This allows high flexibility in adjusting the winding parameters, such as tension, torque, nip load, to the special requirements of the different paper grades. Furthermore, these technologies permit collection of aU data of the winding process for advanced analysis of... [Pg.392]

The fifth and final chapter, on Parallel Force Field Evaluation, takes account of the fact that the bulk of CPU time spent in MD simulations is required for evaluation of the force field. In the first paper, BOARD and his coworkers present a comparison of the performance of various parallel implementations of Ewald and multipole summations together with recommendations for their application. The second paper, by Phillips et AL., addresses the special problems associated with the design of parallel MD programs. Conflicting issues that shape the design of such codes are identified and the use of features such as multiple threads and message-driven execution is described. The final paper, by Okunbor Murty, compares three force decomposition techniques (the checkerboard partitioning method. [Pg.499]
