Sample preparation Dissolve lotion containing 50 mg oxiconazole in 50 mL MeOH, dilnte a 5 mL aliqnot to 50 mL with mobile phase, inject an ahquot. Shake cream containing 50 mg oxiconazole with 50 mL chloroformiMeOH 50 50 for 30 min (Caution Chloroform is a carcinogen ), make np to 100 mL with MeOH, centrifuge at 4000 rpm at 4° for 15 min, filter, dilnte fivefold with MeOH. [Pg.481]

Topical azole derivatives include the imidazoles bifonazole, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole, oxiconazole, lanoconazole, flutrima-zole and sertaconazole. These drugs show activity against the dermatophytes Epidermophyton, Mi-crosporum and Trichophyton. They are also effective against the yeasts Candida albicans and Pityrospo-rum orbiculare.
