Ethanone, 1- -, oxime

Unlike copper(I) Cuj and Cu6 units are very limited in copper(II) structures. The former is unknown but the latter occurs (Figure 19.5) in [Cu30(dpeo)3]2 (333),705 where dpeo = l,2-diphenyl-2-(methylimino)ethanone 1-oxime and results from the dimerization of the trinudear [Cu30(dpeo)3] units (see 321) with a relatively short Cu—O separation of 2.33 A and a short Cu—Cu separation of 3.18 A.

Bromo-l-(4-nitrophenyl)ethanone oxime 222 was transformed into 3-hydroxy-4-(4-nitrophenyl)-2(3//)-thiazol-ethione 223 upon treatment with potassium ethyl xanthate and zinc chloride as shown in Scheme 88 <2004CL1274>. 

Cyclopropylamine (17) is also prepared in 85% yield by Beckmann rearrangement of the ben-zenesulfonate of l-(cyelopropyl)ethanone oxime (23) followed by alkaline hydrolysis of the resulting amides with potassium hydroxide in water. Cyclopropylmethylamine (24) is isolated as a byproduct in 11% yield.
