Sample size and matrix Your choice of analytical method will also be dependent on the amount of sample you have, especially if the amount is limited and some of the methods under consideration are destructive to the sample. In the Bulging Drum Problem, sample size was not an issue. However, sampling the gas in the drum was challenging, since loss and contamination were quite likely. Getting the samples to the lab presented other challenges. Sample matrix is another important factor in method choice. As you know, some methods and instrumental techniques are not suitable for analysis of solids, without sample preparation. Table 21.8 lists some of the issues that must be considered for different sample matrices. 

The future will undoubtedly show considerable activity in the field of (metal-lo)dendrimers, not only because of the beauty of the structures and the synthetic challenge their preparation involves, but also because of their usefulness in fundamental applications and applied science. The modification of electrolytes via additives is attractive to industry as an economical approach however, its impact on electrolyte performance is mainly restricted to tuning interfacial-related properties because of their small concentration in the electrolyte, while other challenges for the state-of-the-art electrolytes such as temperature limits, ion conductivity, and Inflammability are still determined by the physical properties of the bulk components. Improvements in these bulk-related properties can only be realized by replacing the bulk components of the electrolytes with new solvents and salts, but such efforts have been met with difficulty, since more often than not the improvement in the individually targeted properties is achieved at the expense of other properties that are also of vital importance to the performance of electrolytes. Such collateral damage undermines the significance of the improvements achieved and, in some cases, even renders the entire effort unworthy. 

The catalase-peroxidases present other challenges. More than 20 sequences are available, and interest in the enzyme arising from its involvement in the process of antihiotic sensitivity in tuherculosis-causing bacteria has resulted in a considerable body of kinetic and physiological information. Unfortunately, the determination of crystallization conditions and crystals remain an elusive goal, precluding the determination of a crystal structure. Furthermore, the presence of two possible reaction pathways, peroxidatic and catalatic, has complicated a definition of the reaction mechanisms and the identity of catalytic intermediates. There is work here to occupy biochemists for many more years. 

As documented in a review article (9), no experimental data was available to support hypothetical mechanisms for the biosynthesis of hydrolyzable tannins until recently. Enzymatic studies have now changed this unsatisfactory situation, at least as far as the formation of pentagalloylglucose is concerned. Future work will provide insight into those other challenges discussed in this contribution and that still require clarification. 

Finally, in countries where is it available, renal dialysis presents other challenges as many drugs are lost from the body in the course of peritoneal or haemodialysis. 

Part of the challenge of cooking in another country is trying to find the ingredients that you re used to working with at home. The other challenge comes when you need to measure those ingredients. 

The state-of-the-art catalyst system is a Mo-V-Nb-Te mixed oxide [52], This catalyst is quite sensitive to its synthesis and process parameters and the automated catalyst synthesis tools described above were capable of synthesizing these and other challenging mixed metal oxides successfully. Arguably the role of other people is implicated in the individual constraints section, but the notion of shared, joint or social decision making is not fully developed in the existing literature. Nevertheless there is research suggesting that, at least in Western countries, the family vacation decision is most often the result of a joint decision-making process (Fodness, 1992) or at least one with multiple family influences (Lee Beatty, 2002 Zalatan, 1998).
