Organizational needs analyses

Sometimes organizations choose not to go through the rather formal process of an organizational needs analysis. Most of the time this is because they already have a very firm idea that their organization needs a mentoring scheme. This idea is often based on the observations of management in relation to business goals. 

If and when your organizational needs analysis finally reveals that it is mentoring you should aspire to, you can slowly begin to design your program - slowly, because first there might be some additional research to do. 

We will assume here that the oiganization is satisfied with the way tasks are currently performed and divided up, and with the job descriptions and hence the job specifications, or that it has made the necessary changes and carried out the training-needs analysis. This will affect the content of the programme. Two further aspects of organizational needs will be delivery and costs of training, which are interrelated. 

Training Needs Analysis 1. Perform organizational analysis. 

Traditional accident models were devised to explain losses caused by failures of physical devices (chain or tree of failure events) in relatively simple systems. They are less useful for explaining accidents in software-intensive systems and for non-technical aspects of safety such as organizational culture and human decision-making. Creation of an infrastructure based on which safety analysis can function efficiently and effectively is needed. Computerized Information System. The Project SEARCH Criminalistics Laboratory Information System (CLIS) Committee is another LEAA funded project. Approximately fifteen criminalists are serving on the CLIS Committee which is conducting a requirements analysis for a nationwide computerized crime laboratory information system. With the assistance of a technical subcontractor, PRC Public Management Services, Inc., the committee has determined the "user needs" for such a data system, a conceptual design of a computer system to meet these requirements, and an assessment of different organizational and equipment alternatives for the system. The most recent task reports and implementation plan have been completed and submitted to the advisory committee for final review. Copies of the final reports should be ready for dissemination in the very near future.

A quality system may be defined as an organizational structure that encompasses the procedures, processes, and resources needed to implement quality management. There are various reasons why laboratories implement quality systems. Internally, implementing a quality system can increase the efficiency of laboratory operations. Analysis and documentation of the operations within the laboratory can help standardize processes, achieve more transparency, retain knowledge, improve the work environment and staff morale, and reduce costs.
