Documentation systems and applications must be easy to use, portable, produce useful reports, be replicated by others consistently, and allow for knowledge sharing with other providers. 

International seminars and conferences have been held in various countries to address this critical issue, and enabled the participants to share their experiences in corrosion and its protection [1, 2]. Motivated by the knowledge sharing, acceptable specifications and code of practice were drafted by many institutions in the developing and developed nations and subsequently followed by industry. 

In 1999, during another set of discussions on how to best share knowledge across project teams in different sites, we discerned several key points. First, we had 54 projects with kinases as targets. These projects were focused on inflammatory diseases, cancer, and central nervous system disorders and existed in all three sites. Secondly, there were no organized mechanisms to foster communication or knowledge sharing among the scientists. 

ICAP is composed of countries and regions that have implemented or are actively pursuing the implementation of mandatory cap-and-trade systems (ICAP, 2007). The partnership provides a forum to share experience and knowledge. Sharing and evaluating best practice will help ICAP members in determining the extent to which their respective programmes can be supported by, and/or benefit from, the ICAP process.
