Offensive grenade

Use the offensive grenade to daze and stun the enemy and use the defensive grenade to inflict casualties. 

PVC pipe can be used as a fragmentation sleeve for the offensive grenade. 

Offensive grenades can be used for smoke or incendiary purposes by replacing the flashpowder with the appropriate filler. 

Grenade. A small explosive or chemical missile which can be either thrown by hand (Hand Grenade), or be projected from the muzzle of a rifle or carbine (Rifle Grenade). Many varieties exist, such as antipersonnel, antitank, chemical, concussion (offensive), defensive, fragmentation, frangible, gas, illuminating, incendiary, practice, riot, smoke and training (Ref 40a, pp 84-51)... 

Since WW1 there has been considerable development aad standardization of grenades. They may be divided into fragmentation, demolition or offensive, antitank, smoke, illuminating, chemical and practice grenades... 

Offensive-Defensive Grenades are so designed that, by the addn of a sleeve or similar device, the offensive design may be used as a defensive type by a fragmentation producing effect... 

Chemical. Used for riot control, incendiary, smoke screening, smoke signalling incapacitating purposes Offensive. Used for their blast effect Practice 6 Training. Used for training personnel in use, care handling of service grenades... 

Renovation and Salvage. Similar to regulations outlined under "Trench Mortar Ammunition", with the exception that bouchons and firing mechanisms are not ten ova ted or salvaged unless directed by the proper authority Destruction. For offensive hand grenades and and rifle grenades, not more than 40 grenades shall be packed in close contact with each other in a box and the ensemble placed in a pit, about 4 ft deep, free from stones or other... 

After unscrewing the fuze from the body of the grenade, the EC Blank Fire Powder is emptied into a barrel of water and the fuze is destroyed by the "pit and chute" method, as described under "Metal Components, Destruction". The EC Blank Powder may later be spread out on the ground, allowed to dry and burned, as described under Black Powder If fuzes cannot be disassembled easily, the grenades should be destroyed with demolition blockd in the same maimer as offensive and rifle grenades... 

General purpose anti-personnel grenades are also used by military in both offensive and defensive roles in the hand-mode or launching (from the rifle) mode. The Defence Research and Development Organization, India (DRDO) has recently developed a state-of-the-art multimode grenade named Shivalik which has greatly enhanced the fire power of the infantry soldiers. 

A ready supply of improvised hand grenades can be made in the home workshop at a cost of about 75t apiece. These grenades are easy to make and are just as effective as regular grenades. There are two kinds, offensive and defensive, in which both use the same fuse assembly. Additionally,these g renades use read i1y avaliable ma ter i a1s and can be put together in 15 minutes.
