Hinde I accept all that, and to be honest I ve heard it before. But you haven t answered my question do you ever eyeball the data It is shown clearly in studies of temperament, for example, that if you categorize the data and look at the extremes separately you get quite different relations (Hinde 1997, Kagan 1994).
