Industrial hygenists are professionals and belong to an active association, the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), which has chapters throughout the United States. [Pg.169]

While they may be important, these other functions are not the same as safety, as is often believed. They may have commonalities, but they do not demand the specific skills called for by the safety profession. The safety professional is constantly challenged with demands that require specialized skills, and adding other functions to their burden can render them almost ineffective. [Pg.169]
