Nozzle Mounting

The twisting rubber hoses or o ringed elbows which connect the rotating pan necks with pipe and the wear plate to the face of the stationary valve The condition of the high impact nozzles mounted on the cloth wash manifold and, for wet cake discharge, the sluicing manifold The support rollers which take the vertical load of the entire machine and the horizontal thrust rolls that maintain the rotating frame concentric The toothed rim and sprocket which drives the pan filter... [Pg.230]

The chemically treated oily water enters the bottom of the vessel and is distributed across the bed through nozzles mounted in a bed-support plate. [Pg.187]

The valve consists of a valve inlet or nozzle mounted on the pressurized system, a disc held against the nozzle to prevent flow under normal system-operating conditions, a spring to hold the disc closed and a body/bonnet assembly to contain the operating elements. The spring load is adjustable to vary the pressure at which the valve opens. [Pg.97]

Spray Scrubbers. Spray scrubbers consist of an empty cylindrical chamber in which dust-laden air is contacted with water from spray nozzles, as shown in Figure 20.6(b). The dust-laden air enters the tower near the bottom and passes upward through the water spray. This type of equipment is similar to the spray towers used in mass transfer operations. Proper water distribution can be a problem, so multiple banks of spray nozzles mounted on a manifold produce better air-water contact. The spray knocks down the dust that leaves the bottom of the unit as a dust-water mixture. An entrainment separator is mounted in the upper part of the chamber to reduce the potential spray carryover into the exiting gas stream. [Pg.698]

In spray scrubbers absorbent is sprayed (dispersed) into the gas phase. Dispersion equipment are usually nozzles mounted vertically on top of each other or horizontally in a row. Liquid and gas phases are in cocurrent or countercurrent flow (Fig. 3-20). Spray scrubber examples are annular gap scrubbers and radial-flow scrubber. [Pg.561]

Nozzle manifold A series of injection nozzles mounted on a common feed tube, each nozzle positioned so as to feed a single cavity in the mold. Such manifolds have been used to eliminate runners in molds when molding articles such as cups and when it is desired to gate the cavities at the centers of the cup bottoms. [Pg.660]

Flow coating. In a flow coaler (95 to 100% TE), the coating material is pumped through hoses and nozzles onto the surfaces of the product, from which the excess drains into a reservoir to be recycled. Flow coaters can be either automatic or manual. Film thickness is controlled by the viscosity and solvent balance of the coating material. A continuous coater is an advanced flow coater using airless spray nozzles mounted on a rotating arm in an enclosure. [Pg.883]

The nasal spray pump consists of a pump mechanism with a spray nozzle mounted on a bottle. A dose is sprayed by pressing the pump mechanism. During the first few pump actions only air is delivered from the nozzle as the pump mechanism fills with liquid. The amount of liquid that is sprayed per pump action is independent on the pump force or the liquid level. This results in accurate, reproducible dosing. The bottle needs to be in the upright position when the pump mechanism is released for a new dose to be drawn from the bottle. The nasal spray pump is best used with the patient in the sitting position. [Pg.531]

Results indicate that the nozzle mounted in the reference position ( 0.0 mm) shows the best performance. For larger distances between nozzle outlet and mixing channel inlet the cone shaped Jet strikes the wall of the mixing chamber and momentum loss results . For smaller distances the nozzle reduces the free cross section area and restricts the suction flow. [Pg.138]

Water is sprayed into the outlet ends of the rotating tubes from nozzles mounted on the discharge end housing. A simple control system ensures that they inject water at the correct intervals as the tubes pass the nozzles. See Fig. 54a. [Pg.207]

The nozzle pitch is governed by the diameter of the nozzle mounting and heating element. In a mould with in-line cavity layout (see Figure 9.7), nozzles with contiguous flat... [Pg.296]
