North Channel

It can be seen that about 70% of the calculated inventory of 339,240py and 2 Am are accounted for by the measurements. It seems unlikely that underestimate of the loss through the North Channel could account for the discrepancy. It is likely that Pu and Am penetrating below the 0.3 m core depth sampled by Pentreath et al. (1984), and perhaps additional...

The two ship channels in the North Lagoon have substantially different hydrocarbon contents the North Channel is higher than the South Channel, even though traffic is greater in the South Channel. This difference may be the result of disturbance in the fine-grained (36) sediments of the shallower near-shore region, which disperse the hydrocarbon pollu-... 

The Bohai Strait is situated in the region between the Liaodong Peninsula and the Shandong Peninsula. At its narrowest part, the Bohai Strait is about 105 km wide. It is separated into several chaimels by the Miaodao Islands. The north channel is the main channel which has a maximum depth of 86 m. The seabed of the north channel consists of gravel and exposed bedrocks. The southern channels are shallow, with maximum water depths between 20 and 30 m. A wide terrace, with a gradient of only 1/2,000, extends from the north coast of the Shandong Peninsula to the 25 m isobath. The central part of the Bohai Strait is deeper than 40 m, and is characterized by a relatively flat bottom. 

Screw presses have been used extensively in North America, but are not popular in Europe. The mash is added at the top of a vertical rotating screw. As the mash moves down it is compressed in the taper and juice flows out through slatted conical walls. Compression of the pomace blocks channels for juice flow and iuhibits juice extraction. Extensive use of press aids is necessary for efficient operation. 

Deep water also forms along the margins of Antartica and feeds the Circumpolar Current. The Weddell Sea, because of its very low temperature, is the main source of Antarctic Bottom Water (AABW) which flows northward at the very bottom into the South Atlantic, and then through the Verna Channel in the Rio Grande Rise into the North Atlantic. It ultimately returns southward as part of the NADW. 

Opioids bound to MOR on postsynaptic terminals promote the efflnx of potassinm (K ) via K+ channels. The net effect of active MOR receptor resnlts in hyperpolarization of the post-synapse causing inhibition of neuronal firing. Stndies have shown MOR effects at the pre- and post-synapse synergistically decreases the perception of pain (Glanm et al. 1994 Kohno et al. 1999 Williams et al. 2001 Yoshimnra and North 1983). 

The P2X receptor subunits are unusual in having only two transmembrane domains with both the amino terminal and carboxy terminal located intracellularly. The ion channel is proposed by analogy with the structure of some potassium channels to be formed by a short loop which enters the membrane from the extracellular side (North and Surprenant 2000).

The Cantabrian Mountains and the Pyrenees in the North, the Iberian System in the South-East, and the Coastal Catalan mountains in the East are the natural limits of the Ebro River basin. Traditionally, the river source was supposed to be at Fontibre (name derived from Forties Iberis in latin, Springs of Iberia ) at 880 m.a.s.l., near Reinosa in Cantabria. Nowadays, the river source is placed at 1,980 m.a.s.l., the water coming from a source in Penalara (27 km upstream from Reinosa). The main river channel is 910 km in length, flows NW-SE, from the Cantabrian Mountains to the Mediterranean Sea, where it forms a delta. 

E). The village is approximately 1 km long and 500 m wide, oriented on a south-east to north-west trend. The village is bounded to the south west by a line of south-east to north-west trending ponds that mark the trace of an abandoned channel. The north-east limit of the village is defined by four ponds that trend on a similar orientation, but it is less clear if these ponds were dug or are abandoned channels. 

This paper presents data from a passive system implemented to treat the mine water from the abandoned mining site of Jales, in North Portugal. The layout of the plant comprises initial oxidation and neutralization in a limestone channel. The present work is focused on the resulting products that are generically named ochre-precipitates.
