Normalized performance index

Various performance indices have been suggested [54, 53, 149, 20, 148] and several approaches have been proposed for estimating the performance index for SISO systems, including the normalized performance index approach [53], the three estimator approach [175[, and the filtering and correlation analysis (FCOR) approach [115[. A model free approach for linear quadratic CPM from closed-loop experiments that uses spectrum analysis of the input and output data has been suggested [136]. Implementation of SISO loop based CPM tools for refinery-wide control loop performance assessment has been reported [294]. [Pg.234]

Crowley et al. performed some interesting work with Pichia pastoris in a fed-batch process.19 The complex mixture was measured using a multibounce attenuated total reflectance (HATR) cell. The authors developed models for glycerol, methanol, and the product, a heterologous protein. The results are reported somewhat differently from normal chemometric results. The authors used root-mean square error (RMSE) for the product as a performance index and measured a percent difference for the methanol and glycerol. [Pg.388]

The MLR results from a recognition of incompatibility and subsequent proliferative response when allogeneic lymphocytes are mixed in in vitro culture The proliferative response can be measured by uptake of [ Hlthymidine into DNA. Level of uptake affords a semi-quantitative index of the strength of incompatibility. A one-way test is normally performed in which proliferation by lymphocytes of one donor is blocked by X-irradiation or mitomycin C, so that the proliferative response of only the second donor is assayed ... [Pg.92]

In order to calculate J as a function of r, the Tin that yields the maximum catalyst temperature allowed at r = 0 for each of r values selected was first calculated. This allows calculation of J with the procedures in Figure 10.21. The smallest value of 4>g was 2.S, and therefore, Q can be set to zero. Values of the performance index J were then calculated using the procedures of Figure 10.21 for the selected r values. The values of J normalized with respect to that of J for r of 20 seconds are plotted in Figure 10.22 for 6 = 2 X 10 min (1.4 days) and various values... [Pg.463]

GPC analyses were performed with a Waters Model 244 chromatograph using Microstyragel columns. Both differential refractive index and UV (254 nm) detectors were used. THF was the eluant with a flow rate of 2 ml min-1. A benzene internal standard was employed to correct for flow variations and for normalization of the integrated peak areas. The column set was calibrated using nearly monodispersed polystyrene standards and all molecular data are reported as polystyrene-equivalent molecular weights. [Pg.43]

The aim of the work was evaluation of the ability of photoexcited fullerene C60 and synthesized fullerene C60-containing composites to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) and to perform comparative analysis of the state of the cells of two types (normal ones - thymocytes, and malignant ones - the cells of ascite Erhch carcinoma [EAC] and leucosis L1210) by such indexes as viability, content of LPO products, MTT test, and DNA fragmentation upon incubation in the presence of photoexcited fullerene C60. [Pg.125]
