Some types of built-up mica are bound to special paper (qv), silk (qv), linen, muslin, glass cloth, or plastic. These products are very flexible and are produced in continuous wide sheets. These sheets are either shipped in roUs or cut into ribbons, tapes, or other desired shapes (Table 7). 

Indicators can be utilized to distinguish packages that have been processed from those that have not been processed. These are external indicators that do not have the capabiUty to detect critical shortcomings in cycle parameters because they are not located inside the packages. A weU-known example of this type is autoclave tape, which is also used to hold together packages wrapped in muslin or other kinds of wrap-type packaging materials (qv). 

Hospital steriliza tion is more limited in the availabiHty of steriliza tion methods and of packaging materials. Microbial invasion can occur particularly when articles are wrapped in traditional fabrics such as muslin (140-thread-count cotton). The expected shelf life of hospital-wrapped and sterilized articles is considered to be ca 21—30 days when a double-wrapping technique is used. Double-wrapping requires two successive wraps, each having a layer or layers of an approved packaging material.

Ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC). If any filters or straining bags made firm natural materials such as canvas, muslin or paper are used, care must be taken to ensure that they are cleaned and sterilized regularly to prevent the growth of moulds such as Cladosporium spp., Stachybotrys spp., ardAureobasidium (Pullularia)pullulans, which utilize cellulose and would impair them.

A funnel with a clamped rubber tube on the stem is placed in a ring stand. Small foam pieces are impregnated with chicken, duck or turkey offal homogenate at the rate of 12.5 parts medium to one part foam by weight. A wide mouthed Erlenmeyer flask of 500 ml capacity is filled with this foam homogenate mixture to the 250-300 ml mark (about 100 g). In the manufacture of Labneh and other Middle Eastern fermented milks, the fermented product is concentrated by removing part of the serum (whey). This was done traditionally by stirring the yoghurt and transferring it to muslin bags to partially drain. Concentration can now be achieved by ultrafiltration, before, but preferably after, fermentation.
