NOTE Brain sections are at the level of bregma -3.8 mm of the rat brain atlas (paxinos and Watson 1982). 20-Micron thick coronal sections of frozen rat brain were cut, thaw-mounted onto gelatin-coated slides, and incubated with (a) 10 nM 3H-PCP... [Pg.282]

In analyzing the fibers at a microscopic level, the general fiber classes were identified (hair or bast). Furthermore, adherence of particles to the fibers, be they mineral colorant or soil was determined and when possible identified with the help of the particle atlas (38). The previously created control mounts were used as comparative materials to the unknown mineral or pigment deposits that were observed in foe artifact samples. [Pg.34]

Light Exposures. Silk fabric samples, 0.25 m x 0.17 m, were mounted in Atlas Electric Devices aluminum sample holders according to AATCC Test Method 16E-1982 (7). An Atlas Ci-35 Weather-Ometer xenon-arc was used on continuous light cycle. Exposures were conducted at an irradiance of 0.35 W/m2 measured at 340 nm and the irradiance was monitored and controlled automatically. Borosilicate inner and outer filters were used to simulate the solar spectrum. The relative humidity was maintained at 65% and the black panel temperature was 50°C. The actual fabric temperature during the irradiation was measured, using small thermocouples threaded into the fabric, and was found to be 35 C. Control samples for these tests were kept in the dark at 35°C and 65% RH for the same time period as the illuminated samples. [Pg.112]

In 1799, as a result of studies of the mounts of the Dnieper, Dnestr, and Danube Rivers, I.I. Billings prepared the first Atlas of the Northern Black Sea. On the basis of these works, in 1807 I. Budischev prepared the manuscript Sailing chart or guidelines over the Black and Azov Seas. As a result, in 1817 the Atlas of Maps appeared, whose quality was superior to all available foreign maps of the Black Sea. [Pg.17]

Exposure Conditions. Fade-ometer (Atlas, model FDA-R) all samples were mounted and exposed according to standard procedures. [Pg.305]

The oriented film specimens were mounted on aluminum frames and exposed on an Atlas Weather-Ometer, Model 65WR. An 18 minute spray cycle together with an 102 minute cycle at 55% relative humidity and approximately 65°C was used. At regular intervals, the test specimens were removed from exposure and their tensile strength measured on an Instron Model 1102. A decrease in tensile strength, expressed as tenacity, over the tensile strength of the same formulation before exposure, is a measure of the deterioration of the physical properties of the polymer. "Failure" in this test is defined as a loss of 50% or more of the initial sample tenacity. [Pg.150]

The black panel temperature is measured with a thermocouple mounted on a flat black painted panel which is placed on the sample rack of tire Weatlier-Ometer. As such, the temperature registered is meant to indicate a maximum temperature of the specimens under tire same iiTadiation. Kockett, D., Factors of weathering. Presentation given at tire Atlas School of Natural and Accelerated Weathering (ASNAW) course, Miami, FL, 27-30 April, 1999, Atlas Electric Devices company, Chicago, IL, 1999. [Pg.639]

Effort to entire the capability of the general purpose nonlinear stmctural analysis program FINAS is continued, particularly with respect to adoptive mesh generation based on r-method and h-method. FINAS was mounted as the solver in CAE systems such as CADAS, ATLAS, FEMAP and so on. FINAS is currently used by many engineers at about 40 sites including fabricators and universities. The latest version, VI 2.0, was translated into English. [Pg.129]
