Molecular biology future

The demand for RMs and CRMs continues to grow. As traditional chemical analysis moves into biochemistry and molecular biology the demand for RMs does not abate the only question is what is next Chapter 9 considers these, and other future issues critically.

The future of EM autoradiography most likely will center about the utilization of frozen sections for the localization of soluble compounds within tissues. Of special interest is the expanding application of EM autoradiography to molecular biology. Fakan and Fakan (4) have employed the technique for investigating spread molecular complexes. The reader is referred to Sigre (19) for additional applications of EM autoradiography. 

By the early 1960s it was clear that simple experiments on P uptake were inadequate to distinguish different species of RNA in mixed populations of cells at different stages of the cell cycle. The future for labeling experiments with 32P in cell biology was to lie mainly with synchronized cells and for studies on nucleic acids, with molecular biological techniques.
