Photovoltaic (Solar) Module or Panel - A solar photovoltaic product that generally consists of groups of PV cells electrically connected together to produce a specified power output under standard test conditions, mounted on a substrate, sealed with an encapsulant, and covered with a protective glazing. Maybe further mounted on an aluminum frame. A junction box, on the back or underside of the module is used to allow for connecting the module circuit conductors to external conductors. [Pg.392]

In certain applications, the construction of the filament assembly can have an effect on the performance of the tube itself, and the performance of the RF system as a whole. For example, filaments built in a basket-weave mesh arrangement usually offer lower distortion in critical high-level AM modulation circuits. [Pg.374]

The magnetic regulators allow to synthesize in one module of the X-ray apparatus main cir-euit commutator, form converter, noncontact smooth ac voltage amplitude regulator, para-metrie stabilizer, ac supply filter, fimetional protection against the short-circuit in the X-ray tube and protection against emergencies in the control circuits. [Pg.431]

The Driving Module houses power supply, circuits for determination of travel distance (odometer wheels) and circumferential orientation, and a computer and a storage facility for all data recorded. The Driving Module has cups extending to the pipe wall, thus providing the movement of the tool after its launching into the continuous oil flow. [Pg.1060]

Most NC-AFMs use a frequency modulation (FM) teclmique where the cantilever is mounted on a piezo and serves as the resonant element in an oscillator circuit [101. 102]. The frequency of the oscillator output is instantaneously modulated by variations in the force gradient acting between the cantilever tip and the sample. This teclmique typically employs oscillation amplitudes in excess of 20 mn peak to peak. Associated with this teclmique, two different imaging methods are currently in use namely, fixed excitation and fixed amplitude. [Pg.1697]

Ia early telephoaes, souad (voice) waves caused a carboa microphone s resistance to vary, thus varyiag the current flowing ia a series external circuit. This d-c curreat could thea be used to regeaerate voice waves ia a receiver. Two wires were required to carry a single coaversatioa. With time, telecommunications traffic was eacoded oa a-c carriers, at first usiag ampHtude or frequeacy modulatioa, and more recently pulse code modulation. [Pg.249]

Metal powder—glass powder—binder mixtures are used to apply conductive (or resistive) coatings to ceramics or metals, especially for printed circuits and electronics parts on ceramic substrates, such as multichip modules. Multiple layers of aluminum nitride [24304-00-5] AIN, or aluminay ceramic are fused with copper sheet and other metals in powdered form. The mixtures are appHed as a paste, paint, or slurry, then fired to fuse the metal and glass to the surface while burning off the binder. Copper, palladium, gold, silver, and many alloys are commonly used. [Pg.138]

Herbst et al. [International J. Mineral Proce.ssing, 22, 273-296 (1988)] describe the software modules in an optimum controller for a grinding circuit. The process model can be an empirical model as some authors have used. A phenomenological model can give more accurate predictions, and can be extrapolated, for example from pilot-to full-scale apphcation, if scale-up rules are known. Normally the model is a variant of the popiilation balance equations given in the previous section. [Pg.1840]

Maintenance on gas trucks is also higher than with electric vehicles. About 5 percent annually of the initial cost applies to internal-combustion equipment, and about 2 percent annually to electric. A special feature on electric trucks with solid-state controls is the use of modules or circuit boards, which can be replaced as units and rebuilt at the factoiy. Typical maintenance costs for trucks operating five 8-h shifts per week are in the order of 3.15 per hour for gas vehicles and 1.78 per hour for electric ones. Under these conditions, energy costs are typically 9.3 cents per hour for gas trucks and 5.1 cents per hour for the electric units. [Pg.1976]

Both V and/can be varied with the help of pulse width modulation (PWM) in the inverter circuit. The converter unit normally is an uncontrolled pow-cr diode rectifier. [Pg.118]
