It is impossible to specify a completely foolproof coupling, particularly by manufacturer and model number. Still, in the interest of reliability, the specification should cover the subject of couplings. This requires the use of plant feedback and a lot of research on the part of the specification writer to determine the latest developments in coupling design. Unfortunately, when a vendor furnishes a coupling, it often becomes just another outside purchased item that he may purchase with a minimum specification and strictly on low price. [Pg.451]

A separate table such as the example in Table 15-2 is prepared for each line designation. Each valve is assigned a designation on the flowsheets and explained in this table. The pipe, valves, and fittings table can sp( acceptable valves by manufacturer and model number, by a generic description, or by a combination of the two as shown in the example. It should be pointed out that Tables 15-1 and 15-2 are examples from American Petroleum Institute Recommended Practice (API RP) 14E and are illustrative only. There are almost as many different formats for pipe, valve, and fip "" tables as there are companies, and these examples are in no manner ty or recommended. Often, for. simphcity, valve types are not described i pipe, valve, and fittings specifications but on separate sheets for each. ... [Pg.426]

The report includes pedigree information on each plant. This includes plant name and unit number, type, vendor, number of pumps, pump designer, pump model number, and number of seal stages. [Pg.102]

Forsberg s electronic book consists of information from over 5,000 permeation tests on 6A0 chemicals or mixtures of chemicals. Over 7,000 breakthrough times and/or permeation rates are recorded. Along with this information are over 25,000 pieces of associated data such as the test material, manufacturer, model number, thickness, comments, a performance index number, and references. Over 200 different models of CPC are represented. [Pg.66]

The other example concerns the installation of separate faucets for hot and cold water when mixing faucets had been requested. The laboratory operator would have caught this had he checked faucet model numbers on the drawings. [Pg.97]

With the observed temperature shift data for (dSldT)p and calculated (within the framework of the Debye model) numbers for the temperature shift of SOD and with the known thermal expansion coefficient as well as results from Ta Mossbauer experiments under pressure, the authors [191] were able to evaluate the true temperature dependence of the isomer shift, (dSisIdT) as —33 10 " and —26 10 " mm s degree for Ta and W host metal, respectively. [Pg.296]

Fig. 4 Left the mean 1961-1990 monthly temperature for the Ebro catchment. Part (a) shows the annual cycle, each line representing a different RCM simulation and the bold line representing the CRU observed series. The shading represents the 95% confidence interval for the estimate of the observed 30-year sample mean. Part (b) represents the individual monthly model means as an anomaly from the CRU mean with 95% confidence interval superimposed. Part (c) represents the mean absolute annual error for each of the RCMs. Right-, as for left column but for mean precipitation (d) for the Gallego catchment. Model anomalies in parts (e) and (f) are expressed as a percentage relative to the CRU monthly mean. Model numbers correspond to experiments shown in Table 1. Figure from [35]... B. Equipment specifications Identifies the equipment by manufacturer name and model number. Provides the physical data and design information associated with the equipment. [Pg.457]

This is the general description of the instrument which should include identifiers of the instrument, such as model number, serial number and, possibly, an internal inventory number. It should also include the component s overall capabilities and electrical, temperature and humidity requirements/specifications. [Pg.311]

The ACS Style Guide (3rd ed.) specifies that an apparatus should be described only if it is not standard or not available commercially. With standard, commercially available apparatus, stating a company name and model number in parentheses is appropriate and adequate. [Pg.91]

Instrumentation. Write the instrumentation section of your Methods section. When appropriate, be sure to include vendors, model numbers, and operating parameters. Use the literature to determine the operational parameters that you should include. Be sure to use parentheses appropriately. [Pg.95]

PfO and Pff illustrate how authors commonly refer to instrumentation in their abstracts. In most cases, instrument names are written out in full (without acronyms), and no information regarding vendors, model numbers, or operational parameters Is Included. [Pg.251]

Differences are apparent in the second move as well. Both the poster and journal article signal the second move with subheadings, but in the poster, the procedures are presented in bulleted lists of sentences or phrases. Such lists, which could also be numbered, are common in posters. Essential details are presented, specifically those that are needed to understand the rest of the poster. In this case, we chose to highlight a few details about the saponification and extraction procedures. Note, however, that we did not include operating parameters for the GC-electron capture or GC/MS-MS instruments (other than the vendors and model numbers). In a poster, such parameters are optional they may be included, but they are not required. Also, in a poster (but not a journal article), the parameters can be listed in phrases rather than in complete sentences. An illustrative sketch, diagram, or photograph of the SPME holder, fiber, or extraction setup would also be appropriate to include at this point. Finally, if any numerical methods have been used, they should be mentioned in an additional bullet. [Pg.302]

To enable reflectometry to provide accurate, reproducible, and efficient measurements, several factors must be considered. Choice of the substrate material, substrate modeling, number of measurements per wafer, choice of the measurement patterns, and the setup of the pattern recognition program are all critical to the measurement process, as discussed in the following. [Pg.218]

Both turn-on and turnoff snubber circuits used the fast-recovery silicon diode (model number MUR 4100E). [Pg.86]

The Italians designated their projectiles by the caliber, the specific equipment in whcih they were used and the model numbers of the projectiles. In most cases the model number indicated the year in which the item was designed Accdg to MUNIZIONAMENTO ITALIANO (Addnl Ref C), Proiettili Italian may be divided into Proiettili di piccoli calibri (Small caliber projectiles, inclusive to 100-mm) Proiettili di medi calibri (Medium caliber projectile, from 102 to 210-mm) and Proiettili di grosso calibri (Large caliber projectiles, above 210-mm)... [Pg.438]
