Mercurialis annua

Tamus communis (6) and Asparagus cochinchinensis (7) and flavonol glycosides from Mercurialis annua. (14). However the entire process consumes glycosides which are often very difficult to separate and purify and may be better employed in biological evaluation experiments. So the more recent approach to glycoside structural determination is a combination of ID and 2D NMR techniques which are very sensitive and non-destructive. The non-invasive nature of NMR methods allows easy recovery of the intact material by simple removal of solvent for successive biological evaluations. [Pg.117]

Flavonoids, widely distributed in the plant kingdom, are present in many medicinal plants. The widespread flavonol glycosides rutin 79 and narcissin 65 have been isolated from Mercurialis annua L., a poisonous herb endemic in southern Italy and used in veterinary medicine, as are the minor flavonol glycosides 80,67 and 66. The latter is a new natural compound with a glucopyranosyl unit... [Pg.139]

Resistant weeds are Matricaria spp., Anthemis spp., Centaurea cyanus, Vicia hirsuta, Armranthus retroflexus, Mercurialis annua, Galium aparinae, Polygonum aviculare, Convolvulus arvensis and most of the monocotyledonous weeds. [Pg.631]

Tritosulfuron (BAS-635) (Table 2.2.13) [22] is a broad-spectrum postemergent dicot herbicide mainly for use in cereals, rice, maize and turf with application rates of 40-75 g-a.i. ha h In cereals it was commercialized by BASF in 2004 under the trade name Biathlon [23] as a WG formulation containing 714 g kg tritosulfuron and is applied at a rate of 50 g-a.i. ha h The following weeds are well controlled Thlaspi arvense, Mercurialis annua, Urtica urens, Cirsium arvense, Veronica hederifolia, Chenopodium spp., Sinapis arvensis, Capsella bursa-pastoris, Galeopsis... [Pg.61]

Cytokinins probably play a role in sex expression. It may be that in certain monecious species cytokinins are below a critical level for differentiation of perfect flowers. Topical applications of cytokinin to a known staminate flowered grapevine 3 weeks before anthesis induced the plant to produce perfect flowers (Negi and Olmo 1966). An additional example is to be found in the production of male flowers by Mercurialis annua following treatment with cytokinins (Durand 1969). Furthermore, soaking of Luff a acutangula seed in a N-benzyladenine solution promoted early pistillate flower production (Bose and Nitsch 1970). In this connection it may be important to note that cytokinins have been reported to induce ethylene formation in plant tissues (Fuchs and Lieberman 1968). [Pg.195]
