Mechanical standards gears

The tester model designed in this work is similar to a standard gear double flank tester but with the peculiarity of the need to adapt the tester to a micro measurement range (Table 4) and the high equipment resolution required. This fact will imply the selection of high precision components and the specific design of the mechanical fixations for the micro gear to be inspected. [Pg.48]

An internal spur gear, in combination with a standard spur-gear pinion, provides a compact drive mechanism for transmitting motion between parallel shafts that rotate in the same direction. The internal gear is a wheel that has teeth cut on the inside of its rim and the pinion is housed inside the wheel. The driving and driven members rotate in the same direction at relative speeds inversely proportional to the number of teeth. [Pg.574]

The people (or teams of people) are allowed to use standard mountain climbing and camping gear (such as ropes and backpacks) but not sophisticated electrical mechanisms such as engines. [Pg.9]

Belts, gears, shafts, pulleys, sprockets, spindles, drums, fly wheels, chains, or other reciprocating, rotating, or other moving parts or equipment shall be guarded if such parts are exposed to contact by employees, or otherwise create a hazard. Guarding shall meet the requirements of the American National Standards Institute B 15.1-1958 Rev., Safety Code for Mechanical Power Transmission Apparatus. [Pg.1305]

This chapter is intended to give the reader an overview of the various standardized types of chain and their uses. Chains may be classified in many different ways. From a theoretical viewpoint, ehain is a eontinuous flexible rack engaging the teeth on a pair of gears. Certainly, a sprocket, being a toothed wheel whose teeth are shaped to mesh with a chain, is a form of gear. From a viewpoint based on its history and development, chain is a mechanical belt running over sprockets that ean be used to transmit power or convey materials. Neither of these aspects relate to the praetieal standpoints of either the producer or the user of the product. [Pg.17]

Actuation 2015 is a European collaborative research and development project. The project aims to develop and validate a common set of standardized, modular, and scalable Electro Mechanical Actuator (EMA) resources for all actuators and all types of aircraft (Actuation 2015). Safety critical functions for flight control, high lift, landing gear, door, thrust reverser have to be developed. [Pg.1711]
