The last Solvay Conference that I have rather arbitrarily put in this class is the 17th on Order and Fluctuations in Equilibrium and Nonequilibrium Statistical Mechanics held in October 1978.92... 

We would like to add that Peter was an invited speaker at the Symposium on Molecular Mechanics (held in Indianapolis in 1983) and was co-chairman of the second Gordon Research Conference on Computational Chemistry in 1988. As we pointed out in the Preface of Volume 13 (p. xiii) of this book series, no one had been cited more frequently in Reviews of Computational Chemistry than Peter. Peter—and the others—will be missed. 

The use of bonded-phase partition systems is generally preferred over mechanically held stationary phases this gives advantage to technique 3. 

Place the labeled probe in a water bath and heat to boiling (make sure the top of the tube is mechanically held in place to prevent opening). Boil probe for 5 min (time starts once boiling begins). Immediately submerge the probe into an ice water bath for 2-3 min. Add the required volume of denatured probe to the hybridization mixture and mix very well. 

The loom state cotton fabric contains about 8-12% natural impurities of total weight of the fibre. These impurities mainly consists of waxes, proteins, pectic substances and mineral matters. In addition to this, the mechanically held impurities called motes are present containing seed-coat fragments, aborted seeds and leaves etc. that clinge to the fibre. Apart from these, the loom-state fabric is also contaminated with adventiteous oils such as machine oils, tars, greases etc. 

Mechanically held stationary phases were used when HPLC was first applied to liquid-liquid chromatography. Their preparation involved coating of solid...

In Japan, the first symposium on marine soil mechanics held under the sponsorship of the Japanese Society of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering in 1982 (Subcommittee on Submarine Soil Mechanics, 1982)... 

This volume contains articles of the invited speakers at the lUPAC-sponsored International Symposinm on Radical Polymerization Kinetics and Mechanism held in II Ciocco (Italia) dnring the week September 3-8, 2006. The conference was attended by close to 200 people from all over the world with a good balance between attendees from industry and academia. About 40 per cent of the attendees were Ph.D. students, who very actively participated in the scientific program. 

Mechanical Water or Mechanically-held Water. The water that is present in moist clay and is not chemically combined. When the clay is heated, the mechanically-held water is virtually all removed by the time that the temperature has reached 150°C. 

Water-smoking Period. The stage in the firing of heavyclayware and of fireclay refractories when the mechanically-held water in the clay is being evolved, i.e. the temperature range 100-250°C. The temperature distribution in the setting should be such as to prevent condensation of any of this water vapour, and the temperature should not be raised further until all the water has been evolved. 

Realizing a solar fuel generator has to take into consideration the separation of gaseous products and ion exchange through membranes. Such systems could be planar with embedded small photoactive stmctures connected and mechanically held by a membrane as seen in Fig. 20. 

We have not seen the editors of the Journal of Computational Chemistry put in print an exact definition of computational chemistry, but one of the co-editors, Paul Schleyer, offered the following definition at the Workshop on Molecular Mechanics held at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (Amsterdam) in December 1985 Attempts to model all aspects of real chemistry as closely as possible by using calculations rather than experiment.

The Conference on Molecular Quantum Mechanics held at Boulder, Colorado, in June 1959 was the culmination of a succession of meetings convened after the Shelter Island Conference with the express purpose of dealing with computations of complicated integrals accompanying the move from human computers to desk calculators to electronic digital computers. 

The phase structure of the phase is at the origin of the piezoelectric effects. While low molar mass Sq liquid crystals flow under the influence of an external mechanical held, the network structure of the Sq elastomers prevents macro-Brownian motions of the mesogens and deformations with large amplitudes are feasible. On the other hand, compared to solid-state crystals, the modulus of the elastomers is smaller by orders of magnitude and, moreover, can be modified by the cross-linking density of the network. With these exceptional properties, S() elastomers offer a new class of electromechanical materials that stimulate theoretical and experimental activities. 

Finally, the results of Brehmer et al. [42] have to be mentioned. Their interpretation of the electromechanical response in the networks is a mechanoclinic effect. The mechanical held, which induces the mechanoclinic effect, is induced by the network, which was formed in the Sq phase. This induces a tilt and therefore an electromechanical response.
