Manganese organometallic compounds

The new silazane 5 may be reacted with activated metals, organometallic compounds or simple metal amides, or may first be transformed to its lithium salt and then reacted with metal(II) chlorides [11]. In all these cases, metal derivatives of 5 are obtained with the general formula j [Mc (/BuO)Si 9N(9M, which have no further base coordinated to the metal. So far we have synthesized amides with M = Ca, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Sr, Ba, all elements in oxidation state +2. X-ray structure determinations have been performed on the calcium, manganese, iron, zinc, and barium derivatives.

Optically active organometallic compounds in which the transition metal is the center of chirality have been known since 1969, when the first manganese compounds were reported1. In the meantime cyclopentadienyl and carbonyl transition metal complexes with 4, 5 and 6 ligands have been obtained in optically active form for the following types of compounds (Scheme 1) ...

Exposure to neurotoxicants or neurotoxic chemical substances causes severe adverse health effects to the nervous system, which is very sensitive to organometallic compounds and sulfide compounds. These compounds disrupt the normal functioning of the central nervous system, peripheral nerves or sensory organs, and the conduction of nerve impulses. Thus, chemical substances are considered neurotoxicants when they induce a consistent pattern of neural dysfunction. The chemical substances include but are not limited to carbon disulfide, manganese, methyl mercury, organic phosphorous insecticides, tetraethyl lead, thallium, and trialkyl tin compounds. 

Reviews have appeared of the photophysics of molybdenum complexes, primary and secondary processes in organometallic chemistry, flash photolysis of Pe(CO)5 and Cr(CO)g, dinuclear manganese carbonyl compounds, the photochemistry of metal complexes isolated in low temperature matrices, cluster complexes, diene complexes, photoproduction of coordinativeiy unsaturated species containing rhodium or iridium, and redox chemiluminescence of organometallic compounds.Synthetic and metal organic photochemistry in industry has also been reviewed.
