Luteolin 7-rutinoside

Zhu et al. [222] examined the antimicrobial activities of four flavonoids, luteolin-7-rutinoside, cynaroside. Fig. (31), apigenin-7-rutinoside and apigenin-7-G-P-Z)-glucopyranoside, isolated from the n-butanol soluble fraction of artichoke leaf extracts (Cynara scolymus). The compounds showed activity against most of the tested organisms, and were more effective against fungi than bacteria. The MIC values of these compounds were between 50 and 200 )J.g/ml. [Pg.490]

Substantial quantities of luteolin-7-O-glucuronide, luteolin-7-O-glucoside, and luteolin-7-O-rutinoside occur in Red Oak Leaf and Lollo Rosso, two red-leaved varieties of lettuce (Lactuca sativa) [Llorach et al., 2008], Polymethoxylated flavones such as nobiletin, scutellarein, sinensetin, and tangeretin (Fig. 1.8) are found exclusively in citrus species [Crozier et al., 2006c], while diosmetin-7-O-glucuronide has been isolated from the fruits of a Chinese herb, Luffa cylindrical. [Pg.9]

Phytochemistry The aboveground parts have essential oils. The roots contain tannins, carbohydrates, and saponins. 0.08 % total alkaloids were obtained from the extracts of tops of plants collected at the Usturt Plateau during budding stage and vasicinone was isolated (Yunusov 1981). The roots and aboveground parts contain polysaccharides (Arifkhodzhaev et al. 1985 Arifkhodzhaev and Rakhimov 1986, 1993) as well as the flavones luteolin 7-glucoside and 7-rutinoside (Omurkamzinova et al. 1991). [Pg.59]

A set of sk phenolic materials [3,4-dihydroxyphenylethanol, elenolic acid glucoside, demethyJoleuropein, quercetin 3-rutinoside, luteolin 7-glucoside, oleur-opein) were extracted from olives and well separated on a C,g column (A = 280 nm for the phenylethanol and 340 nm for all others). A 20-min 15/85->40/60 acetonitrile/water (H3PO4 to pH 2.5) gradient was used to generate the separation... [Pg.411]
