Local involvement

Regardless of the implementation strategy you select, try to build in at least some degree of local involvement in planning and implementation. Local involvement can give facility personnel "ownership" of the process, meaning that they will be more likely to work to overcome any problems or false starts. In addition, local participation means that you will be able to identify any local barriers to implementation—sooner rather than later. 

What are the limits to collection in terms of (i) time frame (how long does an approval last ) (ii) local involvement (is there a requirement for local personnel to accompany a collector ) and (iii) amount (weight) of sample being collected ... 

Local involvement in the collection is required, with 50% of the collected material staying in-country. Only if the species are CITES listed are the requirements more stringent. 

In addition to the migration of dissolved or suspended uranium due to the movement of water in the environment, the transport and dispersion of uranium in surface water and groundwater are affected by adsorption and desorption of the uranium on surface water sediments. On the other hand, migration of uranium in soil and subsoil and uptake in vegetation are usually quite local involving distances from several centimeters to several meters. 

Numerous compounds come under this group. Generally, the pesticide content of the oil reflects the environmental conditions in the area where the fish are caught. The level of these compounds in the oil must be within the regulatory limits of the locality involved. Cholesterol is a major part of the unsaponifiable fraction of fish oils. Generally it is not removed except by vacuum stripping of the oil. 

Ulcerative colitis can be accompanied by complications that may be local (involving the colon or rectum) or systemic (not directly associated with the colon). With either type the complications may be rmld, serious, or even life threatening. Local complications occur in the majority of ulcerative colitis patients. Relatively minor complications include hemorrhoids, anal fissures, or perirectal abscesses, and are more likely to be present during active colitis. Enteroenteric fistulas are rare. 

Emergency preparedness although safety training is discussed, the CER does not mention any strategy for ensuring local involvement in emergency action planning. 

The original attempts to understand shock wave induced up-pumping and relate it to energetic material initiation began about 20 years ago, when the first calculations were made on NM. Provided all bubbles are carefully removed [65] NM is a homogeneous liquid, so the only mechanisms for energy localization involve the special thin layer just behind the shock front. The central idea in NM studies was to calculate the rate of phonon activation of the C-N stretch that is needed to break the C-N bond. Several authors also extended or extrapolated their NM calculations to speculate about what happens with RDX or HMX.

Multisite, subnational U.S. evaluations of the impacts of lead in paint and interior dusts included the remediation effects at multiple U.S. sites, where old dwellings with lead paint hazards were subjected to various Pb abatement strategies. Galke et al. (2001) reported that the combined interventions at 14 locales involving 2,600 units treated to control lead paint hazards, mainly in the form of window replacement and repair of painted surfaces, had reduced geometric mean PbB levels by 26%, from 11.0 to 8.2pg/dl. Dust lead loadings had also been reduced and the reduction persisted at least 1 year.
