Loading Lightly loaded system

The design of the light load system must prevent the over-raising of a spent fuel assembly to the point that the minimum required depth of water shielding fails to be maintained. [Pg.231]

Because of the steep pitch required, slides are limited in application. They are most commonly used to bridge the gap between roller-conveyor systems on two floors, because the roller conveyor can take the container off the slide rapidly and ehminate or reduce the chance for collisions. Slides may also be used when containers can be chuted from an upper floor to a manually loaded carrier. The use of several rollers at the feed point is recommended for easy dehveiy to the sloping section. If the drop is short and containers light, a roller cleanout will prevent backup of containers on the slide. The slope of gravity slides is a function of container weight, size, and friction characteristics and should be selected with care to be sure that containers do not move either too swiftly or not at all. Slides usually use flat steel sheet. [Pg.1976]

When switching a lightly loaded circuit, having a transformer, and the natural frequency of the linear part of the system con esponds to one of the harmonics of the magnetizing ettrrent. [Pg.557]

When the systems that are series compensated are eonneeted to a lightly loaded transformer or shunt reactor, under certain line conditions (Section 24.4). [Pg.558]

A study of various systems has revealed that the load angle for an uncompensated line should be maintained at about 30° only. This means that an uncompensated line may be loaded to just nearly half its steady-state level to retain a high level of stability during load fluctuations, particularly during light loads or load rejections, switching of large inductive loads or any type of minor or major line fault. [Pg.794]

Notable among the alternative materials are the MBS polymers, in which methyl methacrylate and styrene are grafted on to the polybutadiene backbone. This has resulted in two clear-cut advantages over ABS. The polymers could be made with high clarity and they had better resistance to discolouration in the presence of ultraviolet light. Disadvantages of MBS systems are that they have lower tensile strength and heat deflection temperature under load. [Pg.448]

Loss of Heat in Series Fractionation System - In series fractionation, i.e., where the bottoms from the first column feeds into the second column and the bottoms from the second feeds into the third, it is possible for the loss of heat input to a column to overpressure the following column. Loss of heat results in some of the light ends remaining with the bottoms and being transferred to the next column as feed. Under this circumstance, the overhead load of the second column may consist of its normal vapor load, plus the light ends from the first column. If the second column does not have the condensing capacity for the additional vapor load, excessive pressure could occur. [Pg.134]
