Handa et al. reported the synthesis of a phosphorus equivalent of Barthel s salts in which the hexavalent phosphorus(V) was coordinated by three bidentate ligands. 1.2-benzenediolato-O.C7. Its thermal stability is similar to that of its boron counterparts, and moderate ion conductivity was achieved in nonaqueous media. The authors attributed the less-than-satisfactory ion conduction to the large size of the anions, which increased the viscosity of the resultant electrolyte solutions. The anodic stability limit, as measured by voltammetry on a Ni electrode, was below 3.7 V. A preliminary test of this salt in EC/ THF was conducted in a lithium cell using the low potential cathode. V2O5. and the authors believed that this salt could be a superior electrolyte solute, judging from the utilized cell capacity that was close to the theoretical value. 

White Phosphorus. Information on hepatotoxicity after exposure to airborne white phosphorus is limited to an occupational exposure study. No alterations in liver function tests were observed in workers chronically exposed to an unreported amount of airborne white phosphorus (Hughes et al. 1962). 

A similar kind of synergy was investigated by Cui et al.,90 who prepared by melt blending nano-modified ATH using oxalic acid, a red phosphorus masterbatch and high impact polystyrene (HIPS). Unfortunately, the use of variable amounts of HIPS in the compositions has limited the possibility to see evidence of synergistic effects. The authors have stressed the well-developed and robust character of the char layer formed after UL-94V flame test for the composition HIPS/modified ATH/ Red phosphorus (68/20/12). The use of FTIR confirmed also that both P-O-P and P-O-C groups were present in the char. 

To avoid any danger to the operators, sample weights should be limited to a total mass of lOmg. When the tests for highly sensitive systems like oxidizers with red phosphorus are carried out, those substances should placed on the sample steel roller. 

The first and second moment conditions can be very easily introduced into the r5-fit method as least-squares constraints [7,54] if the number of isotopomers is sufficient for a complete restructure. The effect on the coordinates is not expected to be particularly unbalanced unless the moment conditions are required for the sole purpose of locating atoms that could not be substituted (e.g., fluorine or phosphorus) or that have a near-zero coordinate. While all coordinates may change, the small coordinates will, of course, change more. In the cases tested, the coordinate values of the rs-fit with constraints and those of the corresponding r/e-fit (not of the r0-fit), including errors and correlations, differed by only a small fraction of the respective errors, i.e., much less than reported above. This was true under the provision that all atoms could be substituted and that the planar moments that were excluded from the r -fit because of substitution on a principal plane or axis, were also omitted from the r/E-fit. With these modifications, the basic physical considerations and the input data are the same in both cases, and the results should be identical in the limit where the number of observations equals that of the variables. 

Limited data are available about the effects of individual dietary components on absorption, and consequently the requirement, of Mn. Dietary protein and phosphorus levels (33), calcium level (34) and the effect of a partial substitution of soy protein for meat (28) have been tested in balance studies without any obvious effect of Mn absorption or retention. However, since the main route of excretion is via the bile, the conventional balance technique is probably not sensitive enough to identify dietary factors that influence Mn absorption. 

The analysis of nitric-perchloric acid digests of feed samples for a local industry presented an early test of the ICAP analysis of organic samples. The results obtained for Association of American Feed Control OflBcials (AAFCO) feed check samples (included as quality assurance standards within the sample suite) are given in Tables V and VI. The ICAP results for iron, copper, zinc, manganese, cobalt, and potassium are all within the uncertainty limits of the certified values. While not within the uncertainty limits, the results for calcium, magnesium, sodium, and phosphorus compare with acceptable agreement for the intended application.
