Leather resin finishing

Resin finishing and coating are widely used to improve the leather properties (Thorstensen, 1993). Chemical analyses of finishes and coating are often required. Description of such analyses can be found in Chapter 6 and Chapter 7 of this book, respectively. [Pg.48]

Uses Monomer for acrylic resins, solvent coatings, adhesives, lube oil additives emulsions for textiles, leather, paper finishing modifier for fibers coating agent for paper dispersant modifier for oils/alkyds in food-contact coatings vise, control agent in cosmetics... [Pg.631]

Leather finishes penetrate to a greater or lesser extent and have a profound effect on the grain or wrinkle characteristics of the leather. Penetration of the resia into the leather tightens the grain but may produce a surface stiffness and a tendency toward grain cracking upon flexing. The development of leather finish resins and the appHcation of these finishes is done by specialty houses. [Pg.85]

Uses Manufacture of water emulsion paints, textile and paper coatings, adhesives, and leather finish resins. [Pg.558]

Uses Manufacturing plastic films, leather finish resins, textile and paper coatings amphoteric surfactants chemical intermediate. [Pg.720]

Uses. Manufacture of polymers and resins for textiles, paints, and leather finishes... [Pg.100]

Uses. As a plasticizing co-monomer for the production of resins used in adhesives, latex, paints, textile and leather finishes, and coatings for paper... [Pg.334]

Butyl acrylate is used in the production of polymers and resins for textile and leather finishes, solvent coatings, adhesives, paints, binders and emulsifiers (Lewis, 1993 United States National Library of Medicine, 1997). [Pg.360]

Methyl acrylate is used in manufacture of acrylic and modacrylic fibres, amphoteric surfactants, leather finish resins, textile and paper coatings and plastic films (United States National Libraiy of Medicine, 1997). [Pg.1490]

The great value of the unique characteristics of fluorinated polymers in the development of modern industries has ensured an increasing technological interest since the discovery of the first fluoropolymer, poly(chlorotrifluoro-ethylene) in 1934. Hence, their fields of applications are numerous paints and coatings [10] (for metals [11], wood and leather [12], stone and optical fibers [13, 14]), textile finishings [15], novel elastomers [5, 6, 8], high performance resins, membranes [16, 17], functional materials (for photoresists and optical fibers), biomaterials [18], and thermostable polymers for aerospace. [Pg.168]

Fertilizer and agricultural chemicals Foods and beverages Leather tanning and finishing Lime and cement Man-make fibers Metallurgical and metal products Paints, varnishes, and pigments Pesticides and herbicides Plastic materials, synthetic resins... [Pg.1]

Use Molding, adhesives, laminating, textile finishes, permanent-press fabrics, wash-and-wear apparel fabrics, protective coatings, paper manufacture, leather treatment, binders for fabrics, foundry sands, graphite resistors, plaster-of-paris fortification, foam structures, and ion-exchange resins. [Pg.63]

Use Monomer for resins, solvent coatings, adhesives, oil additives emulsions for textiles, leather, and paper finishing. [Pg.201]

Use Perfumes, high-boiling solvent, especially for epoxy resin coatings, leather finishes, flavoring, odorant, antiblushing agent for nitrocellulose lacquers. [Pg.831]

Use Paper saturation, leather finishing, plasticizer for resin latices. [Pg.892]

Primal [Rohm Haas]. TM for aqueous dispersions of acrylic resins, supplied in various grades that differ in hardness and flexibility and produce finishes that are water insoluble, require no plasticizer for flexibility, are unimpaired by aging, and adhere tenaciously to leather and lacquer coats. [Pg.1041]

Straight melamine-formaldehyde resins are used primarily in the preparation of molding compounds, laminates, and textile finishes. Nearly 90% of these molding powders are used to make dinnerware. Melamine dinnerware can be made very decorative for popularity. This resin has better physical properties than phenolics and it can be very easily colored, which phenolics cannot. Methylolmelamine also is used as a synthetic tanning agent for white leather. [Pg.105]

Foraperk . [Atocdiem N. Am.] Acrylic fluorinated resin blends used fix finishing and protection of leathers, in shoe p(dishes. [Pg.150]

Hycar . [BFGoodrich BFGoodrichUK] Nitrile, ABS, acrylic latexes used for adhesives, carpet badxoatings, papa coatings and saturation, ingment binding, textile coatings, leather finishes, paints, resin modification. [Pg.175]

IKE The monomer in the manuf of polymers and resins lor textile and leather finishes, paint formulations, etc. [Pg.237]

USE The monomer in the manuf of water emulsion paint vehicles, textile and paper coatings, leather finish resins and adhesives. Imparts flexibility to hard films. Caution The monomer is highly irritating to eyes, skin, mucous mem -branes. Lethargy and convulsions may occur if vapors of the monomer are inhaled in high concns. [Pg.594]
