Paper finishing

Casein is used for a number of miscellaneous purposes in which foimolisation is not required. These include adhesives, stabilisers for rubber latex, paper finishing agents and miscellaneous uses in the textile industry. Mention may also be made of casein fibres, available in Italy between the two world wars under the name of Lanital.

The membrane is covered with a 3 to 4 mm stack of dry filter paper. Finish the sandwich with a glass plate and wrap all with plastic foil. After incubation overnight in a refrigerator remove the membrane, wash with PBS and block with an appropriate buffer, e.g., 0.5% BSA in PBS, 30 min. 

Use Monomer for resins, solvent coatings, adhesives, oil additives emulsions for textiles, leather, and paper finishing. 

Use Textile and paper finishing, preservative for cosmetics source of formaldehyde. 

In the past casein plastics were widely used for decorative purposes due to its pleasant appearance. It was also used in the button industry as well as for making buckles, slides, hairpins, knitting pin pens and pencils. These include adhesives, stabilizers for rubber latex, paper finishing agents, and miscellaneous uses in the textile industry.

Tables 34.1 and 34.2 show the results of the experiments for the specimens with the grinding paper finish and for the grit-blasted specimens, respectively. According to these results, the dismantlement of the specimens became easier with increasing weight fraction of the thermally expansive microcapsuies, and immersion in boiling water was more effective than keeping them in hot air.
