Industry leaders support the national associations in the fulfillment of these fundamental features. The Charter defines specific commitments consistent with the fundamental features.

When leaders support a learning and improvement system of reporting, and protect the environment of confidentiality, professionals gain trust that the organization seeks freedom from blame, punishment, and exposure to legal liability. When this trust is present, disclosures and learning increase. 

Science Policy. Technology leaders must work to ensure both a long-term national commitment at the federal level to support such basic research (41), and national poHcies that enable the partnering needed to take advantage of it. 

The training of many of today s industrial leaders in desalination technology was supported by these agencies. 

Two members selected from the team act in supportive roles during the PHA. These roles are the leader and the scribe. A team leader is always needed for a PHA and should double as the scribe only for extremely simple hazard evaluations. For more complex analyses or the HAZOP study method, a separate person should always be assigned to scribe. 

Scientists from Politecnico di Milano and Ineos Vinyls UK developed a tubular fixed-bed reactor comprising a metallic monolith [30]. The walls were coated with catalytically active material and the monolith pieces were loaded lengthwise. Corning, the world leader in ceramic structured supports, developed metallic supports with straight channels, zig-zag channels, and wall-flow channels. They were produced by extrusion of metal powders, for example, copper, fin, zinc, aluminum, iron, silver, nickel, and mixtures and alloys [31]. An alternative method is extrusion of softened bulk metal feed, for example, aluminum, copper, and their alloys. The metal surface can be covered with carbon, carbides, and alumina, using a CVD technique [32]. For metal monoliths, it is to be expected that the main resistance lies at the interface between reactor wall and monolith. Corning... 

Here we set out the arguments for, and provide examples of, simulations that complement rather than replace managerial judgment, making best use of whatever factual information is available to help managers make the necessary choices between possible futures. Such simulations are most needed in support of decisions where even experienced research leaders have blind spots in their judgment. 

And the Team Leader for Psychiatric Drug Products commented, While it is difficult to judge the clinical significance of this difference, similar findings for other SSRIs and other recently approved antidepressants have been considered sufficient to support the approvals of those other products. In other words, the clinical value of an antidepressant drug is just not part of the FDA s criteria for approving it. 

Initially, we had planned to publish a single volume on this subject. However, the remarkable response to my requests for chapters allowed us to scale up to three volumes. Mr. Vishinsky s proposal to repeal the First Amendment may find support in some quarters in this country. The Numbers trial crowd. . . should welcome it. The Vishinsky proposal would provide a sort of legislative endorsement. .. of the indictment under which the Nazi leaders were judicially murdered. With these exceptions, it seems most improbable that the Soviet Revolution will be taken seriously outside Russia. 

Newsletters and support group leaders proved to be fruitful resources for initial contacts, made by telephone prior to my trips. Each person I contacted expressed a desire to share with others the opportunity to give voice to the story of MCS, and volunteered referrals.
