Lead compound production absorption

Flash photolysis, ESR, and absorption studies of this photolysis have identified a transient species (leading to product) as a complex (Amax 410 nm, r 5 x 10-7 sec) between the triplet excited aromatic compound and its nucleophilic reaction partner. [Pg.277]

SAFETY PROFILE Human poison by an unspecified route. Experimental poison by ingestion, intraperitoneal, intravenous, subcutaneous, and parenteral routes. Moderately toxic by inhalation and skin contact. Experimental teratogenic and reproductive effects. Questionable carcinogen with experimental carcinogenic data. Mutation data reported. Lead compounds are particularly toxic to the central nervous system. It is a solvent for fatty materials and has some solvent action on rubber as well. The fact that it is a lipoid solvent makes it an industrial hazard because it can cause intoxication not only by inhalation but also by absorption through the skin. Decomposes when exposed to sunlight or allowed to evaporate forms triethyl lead, which is also a poisonous compound, as one of its decomposition products. May cause elemental lead intoxication by coming in contact with the skin. [Pg.1316]

Some compounds absorbing close to 231 nm may be present in raw samples and thus may interfere with sulphide spectra. Several compounds, such as, for example, p-chlorophenol (absorption at 227 nm), anionic surfactant, RBS commercial product (absorption at 223 nm) and 1-propanthiol (absorption at 239 nm), were tested, and the results show low interference values to the studied compounds [34]. The error of restitution by deconvolution is 5% at maximum with the highest interference associated with anionic surfactant (leading to an error of 4.3%). [Pg.131]

As described previously, virtual screening and in silico design will accelerate the discovery of active lead compounds with new chemical scaffolds. The in silico prediction of physicochemical and ADME (absorption distribution metabolism elimination) properties, however, also are very critical for lead development. Actually, pharmacokinetics and toxicity have been identified as important causes of costly late-stage failures in drug development. The recently developed in silico approaches will increase model productivity in fine-tuned lead optimization to improve compound design and lead optimization. [Pg.126]

It has been noted (Section 5.1.2.3) that production of tetraalkyllead compounds gives rise to effluent streams contaminated with gaseous organic lead compounds. These cannot be controlled by the application of particulate control technology, and considerable effort has been expended in recent years to achieve satisfactory control. Present practice in England involves the use of an activated carbon absorption plant, followed by recovery of absorbed lead by steam stripping [7]. [Pg.89]
